Today I'm feeling grateful for winter weather. We are covered in a blanket of freezing fog and ice and reminds that mother nature is just so beautiful in every season she offers. Our winter has been so mild this year up to this point and I'm truly grateful for the winter beauty that has arrived. Sharing some photos from a local photographer here in Central Oregon:

And, grateful to be working from home as my son is still sick, grateful for an Employer who is flexible and has the family first mentality.

Amazing photos! I'm reading about mapmaking and feeling so blessed we live in an era where there is so much technology to help us connect globally without needing to measure shadows and quiz traders on the days travel to stops on their trade routes to understand how it all fits together. Also inspired by April, I'm thankful husband's work allows the flexibility for him to do the occasional midweek school drop-off so I can get to a doctor's appointment that same employer helps to pay for. I also hope April's son recovers soon.

Wow! What beautiful pictures! My winter weather isn't quite as pretty, but I'm thankful for the little bit of snow we have. Makes everything prettier to look at rather than just frozen mud :)

I was thinking about Debbie's Hugs post and the biggest blessing yesterday turned out to be taking Fallon on an errand. Fallon was irritable the whole ride because she felt she had missed recess and this was standing between her and outside time, so I suggested after the errand we go across the street to a park with a playground to let off some steam. Hadn't been to this park since the summer. Who happened to be in that park but her twin best friends who go to a different school! Boy, did they hug-tackle her when they got over their surprise. It felt like having a God breeze of serendipity at my back.

Blessing #1 yesterday was the first time since her fall my mom felt up to taking my call and even though she is recovering from a fall and fractured elbow, she and my dad sound like they're in pretty good spirits. Blessing #2 Fallon and I were hoping her dad would come home early and make us a pizza (we are traveling next week and trying to empty the fridge so our meals are getting "stranger and stranger," as she puts it). Not only was Jens back from work early, he brought a whole box of leftover pizza.

Blessed the lady who pet sit for us last year is available to house sit this doming week so "old man" Rho isn't stressed out in a kennel while we travel. Blessed yesterday-me did some frantic tidying up the kitchen to make things less overwhelming for her when she came to pick up the keys so this morning I could wake up to an unusually organized galley myself. Does anybody follow Fly Lady? That rule she has about keeping your sink clean has some power in it...

I love the blessings you share everyday, Chris! I've never heard of the Fly Lady - is she a youtuber?

I'm feeling blessed to have advanced warning of the coming snow. It's so calm right now I wouldn't think that a storm is brewing.

I love the fly lady, Chris!! :) We always put our kitchen “to bed” before we head to bed ourselves. All dishes are put away, counters wiped, coffee/tea area readied, am meds ready, etc. It makes walking into the kitchen in the morning so wonderful! :)

Heather, I’m not sure if she has a you tube but she has books. My library has some of her books.

Karen :)

Karen's right-- she has some great books and I've found some Youtubers do recaps of their "30 day Flylady challenge" sorts of things... I love her CHAOS acronym-- Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome. In the end, following her entire schedule of routines was too heavy of a lift for me this season, but maybe someday. This morning I woke up to a dining table explosion of crafting material because Fallon found two sewing books she spent most of yesterday pursuing and she made a customized version of Life board game. Despite the CHAOS, I am amazed at her creativity.

Today is opening day for Girl Scout Cookie season and I feel blessed my kid is so curious about learning how to sell things. It seems like a life skill that skipped a couple generations on both my and my husband's side. Also feeling blessed I did a DXA body composition scan this morning and the results are equivocal enough to warn me off over indulging in her inventory!

I love flylady. Been following her for years and I love the encouragement she gives to start each day. I don't know if she is on YouTube but she has a website
