I looked at the web site that had stuff made out of Denim, but most of it you would have to know how to sew. I do not Know how to sew.

Oma - there are many denim things that can be made by hand sewing. We'd love to have you join us. Please think about it.

Jill - glad to add you to the list. This is going to be fun.

Today I worked on my denim swap ideas. I have almost finished my sample (for me) of one thing that is fun. I might post when I get done to give you more ideas. There are also lots of smaller things to make. I'd love to use up my old denims to give me space to try my new toy - an AccuQuilt GO! LOL!

Oh - and by the way - they don't have to be blue denim. Denim comes in many colors.

I've run out of jeans legs so I'm going to have to use some old denim curtains to finish.

LOL! I've still got a couple pair of in-one-piece jeans, so still have legs. I'm short on pockets. LOL!

I have the denim ready to make 2 cobbler aprons from the legs of jeans, ready for me to add pocket, ties and ruffles. A few years ago I found a light green denim coveralls pair with embroidered trim. I cut it down along the side seams and made it into two aprons; I think I have only one of them left. I have a perfectly good pair of TOMMI HILFIGER coveralls and haven't decided whether to make it into a jumper by adding a complete skirt or to make it into 2 bib-style aprons with ruffles; either would be cute.

Here's the apron I made from the front of the light green denim coveralls. All I had to do was cut the front from the back (leg seams, too, and sew together; add trim at the bottom and ties for around the neck and at the waist.

If everyone likes how this swap turns out, maybe we can do another recycle project.

I have many ideas and have many pairs of jeans. I just want to say that I would prefer not to receive aprons of any kind.

No problem, that's not what I'm making for this swap. I'm the same way - I have too many aprons now, so don't need any more. LOL! I have a lot of them made, but I have something else planned for this swap. If my partner happens to WANT one, I can send them one.

Awesome pillow covers in that second link Linda. I particularly like the pocket silverware holders and the dog leash made from waistbands. Most of the things I make use the fabric from the legs. So that gives me lots of ideas for using my leftover pockets and waistbands. Thanks.

I may not finish this in time. I am an Olympic addict so for two weeks every two years I am glued to the tv. The tv is in the living room and the sewing stuff is in the sewing room so I keep bouncing back and forth. I discovered this is not a good time to get jeans at the thrift shop due to back to school shopping so I am trying to convince DH to cut loose with just one pair of his many jeans. I had lots of legs which are now a quilt top but the project I want to make needs a whole pair. Maybe a nice dinner and a little sweet talk.....

Oh Judith -- what do you need? I used one leg for my project. So I could send you one leg and a whole top if that would help you. Just let me know and I'll send it right off to you.
