We sure do have a lot of talented farmgirls here, don't we!

I am busy making happy mail for friends to cheer them up and keep myself positive during this crazy pandemic.

I even do YouTube videos teaching what I know. You can find it in my signature section below.

Although I like to do all kinds of crafts I think the most satisfying one is making cards to send to people.

Not sure if it is considered a hobby, but I love trying new things especially when it pushes me out of my comfort zone. But the craft I have been doing longest is sewing, about 50 years. Thirty years ago I started gardening with my girls when they were young and each year the garden gets bigger and better. The garden is now home to birds, bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and squirrels. Ten years ago I quilted my first two quilts, valentine quilts for my girls and I have been hooked ever since. I have also dabbled in embroidery, scrapbooking and cardmaking. I would love to learn how to knit and crochet, but these darn hobbies are getting too expensive, so instead I will push me into landscape and portrait quilting.

Good question and I am having fun reading everyone hobby interests.

Loretta I agree! Any happy mail gift is my favorite too. I make an entire binder and fill it with folders and in each pocket put a handmade treasure for them to enjoy! You can see the one I made for a friend on my YouTube channel. Link is in my bio below my name.

Jana I totally agree about the cost of hobbies getting very expensive. I am doing a series on my YouTube channel for using up our stash. Whether is is sew your stash or craft your stash with paper crafting i.e. junk journals, cards, scrapbooking etc... just use up what you have. I am even finding ways to repurpose junk mail envelopes and magazine pages into works of art in my journals.

Boy,I totally agree about the cost of hobby supplies. That's why I decided through this pandemic to only use stash items for everything possible. So far it's worked out just fine all year. Other than special gifts ordered online, the only thing I have had to order was elastic for mask making. The years I was working I bought my "toys" and my stash. Sometimes I would feel guilty because they were rarely used. But now those acquisitions are paying off. It's really a fun challenge to decide what I want to make and then work with what I already have to make it. And that includes, quilting, machine embroidery, mask making, crafting and paper arts mainly mail art.

Jean I am trying to do the same thing and use up what I have already, which is a mini store. I love making cards and sending them to friends and family and they love getting them.

Linda those are wonderful talents you have. I love to be creative too in my craft room daily if possible. I learned to crochet when I was around 8 or 9 years old from my Great Aunt. She was so patient with me. In two days she taught me one complicated stitch to do. I have now forgotten it but I know others that are easy for me to do without any deep thought.
Cross-stitch and embroidery are also very fun. Give them a try too.

Mimmzie Sorry to hear about your health issues. I pray you keep getting stronger day by day. You have a wide array of talents. Keep doing them as therapy.
