Farmgirls, You are always a great source of inspiration to me. What a talented group of women who show their inner beauty through their creations! I have been so busy at my day job, putting the house back in order after the holidays and caring for various family members that I haven't had time to visit. Below is a slipcase I made for my sister's new Kindle Fire (ignore the date on the photo--I get tired of resetting it!). Dianne in the Hudson Valley

I finished the quilt and am going strong on the shawl.

I'm also working on cards for the year. I know with summer my time will be even more reduced with everything to do in the garden so I'm trying to get ahead. So far I've made a handful of birthday cards and some thank you cards.

CJ, what did you use to transfer the Farmgirl sticker to the apron?

Love it by the way.

Laurie,
Avery makes "Light Fabric Transfers" sheets. 8 1/2 x 11, 6 in a package and you can print two transfers on each sheet. I get the pkt. at Walmart in the section where the Avery labels and such are. Just download the transfer, cut it out and iron it on. Directions are included in the package. It also says on the package "Ink Jet" and the number "3271".
Just be sure you have NO STEAM in your iron and it is HOT.
It's easy!
CJ

P.S. You can also get "Dark Fabric Transfers" but haven't tried that yet. Because the only color you can print the transfer in is black you wouldn't want to try it on real dark fabric, but you might on some darker fabrics that black would still show up on. I did it on a red shirt for Robin and you can see the outline of the transfer material. Sometime I'm going to try the "dark" transfers on some of the darker fabric and see how it turns out.

Today I made 12 granny squares... trying to catch up for the 'granny square a day' challenge. Any of you gals doing that, too? I find the concept of crocheting an afghan to be slightly overwhelming, so this is a good pace for me. :)

This weekend I decided to research how to make crochet kitchen towel toppers. I found a lovely pattern on Ravelry and worked on it until I finally got it. The red one is the first one with too many scallops in the body of the dress, the white one is the second one and blue is the third. I plan to make these for birthday gifts this year and package them with a matching potholder. I'm finally making friends with the crochet hook!

Oh Kim those are sooooo cute. I have towel rings to crochet on my "to-do" list for gifting, but I loooooooove those! I'm on Ravelry, so I'll take a look later. Thanks for posting that!

Today, I am heading out to the doctor (again).
I'm taking a hand towel to work on that I have been crocheting for over a year now (tsk, tsk). I'm taking it in my tote bag with my "Farmgirl" transfer logo ironed on.

BTW, I have a plan to "save" the other tote bag I did....

I haven't sold much in my "store" but I have influenced many people to either learn to knit or crochet by simply taking my work along on trips, or by my posted finished project photographs.

Later today, I plan to either do more knitting or crocheting. I have two blankets I am continuing to work on that will be used for camping.

My ornaments have been coming along nicely, so I have another re-purpose project I am 1/2 done with (using an old egg beater).

My list of unfinished projects continues....and yet I continue to add to it - LOL!

Hi Kristina - the pattern is listed as "dress towel holder". She also has a dress potholder too. That will be my next experiment. Just need to get some rings first.

Here's a link to a fun quilted curtain I made a few months back.
Today I'm working on a quilt for my grandson's 3rd birthday. All tractors! Will post pics when it's done!
Cheers!
Here's the link, ( http://www.youtube.com/user/redoleary?feature=mhee#p/u/3/1mSzYA-f3bM ) you may have to copy and paste it, dunno how that works here.

Oooo. That quilt is beautiful!

Kristina, I looked at your blog. I love what you're doing. I may borrow the strainer idea.

GREAT job Kristi!
I have an old beater that was my mom's but I think it'll just be in the utensil jar on my bakers rack with other treasures from my mom's kitchen.

Susan, I love, love, love that curtain you made. How did you get to roll up like that? I would love to make one for my kitchen windows. I also love your blog--what a life you lead. Whenever I get a case of cabin fever I will think of you and your life. I have nothing to complain about. I especially like your quote about people moving to "the boonies" so many people try that here with no clue how to make money without a nine to five job. JoAnn

I've made lots of these, sold them at Farmers Market, made special orders, given as gifts, etc. Every imaginable color scheme and theme.
I have another one in a music/piano theme that has candy in it and this one did until I decided I wanted to put some of my colored buttons in it.
Terra cotta pot and saucer, glass bowl, paint, good adhesive, all kinds of embellishments and wooden ball knob. Gonna make more. .
