Alyce,

If writing has hit, go with it. That is a craft in itself. What do you write?

Laurie, sometimes poetry, but mostly fantasy. This story has been brewing in my mind for YEARS, but I couldn't get it written--until I figured out that I was trying to use the wrong brother to narrate. (Story is about two coworkers who learn they are long-lost brothers, and one has to tell the other that they have a magical heritage.)

I started making a new hat for myself (years ago, I took a class from a master milliner and this is the first time since then I've used it!). Buckram is a pain to sew!

I also got out the hoop I got from wonderful Deb to make the Mister's Valentine present (handkerchiefs, one of which I'm making to coordinate with his new jacket).

Alyce, Good for you. Sounds interesting. I, too, am a fantasy writer.

That is a good breakthrough to realize you had the wrong narrator. It can be hard to change once you originally decide. Have you taken any writing classes or read lots of books? I started with stories about my classmates in 5th grade! Boy, have I learned a lot since then.

Good Luck,
Laurie

I finally finished it - phew!

Today, we are baking up Candy's zucchini muffins to take to my 12 yo's first recital (a duet), then working out at the gym, and then relaxing. I hope to work on a dishcloth and then tackle another unfinished project.

I guess I was lucky, Laurie, in that most of what I'd written with the wrong narrator was lost in a computer crash! I took several creative writing classes in high school and college, read piles of books on the subject--and since I'm a librarian, read a lot of books in general. ;)

5th grade! Wow! I'm impressed.

Wow, gorgeous afghan, Kristina! Love those colors!
Working on crocheting a case for an iPad today. Got distracted from my granny square a day project, lol...but I'll be crocheting clear thru the game tonight, so I'm sure I'll catch up!

Hi Lainy Lou - I am glad you like my boxes. I am working on another picture and there are pics on my blog of it in process if you haven't looked at them yet. Everyone's work is so beautiful and I really enjoy seeing it.

Thank you all for your kind comments on the blanket. It's going camping with us this spring or for late fall camping.

I am digging out my tatted hankie today. I started it a year ago, and barely made a dent in it. I'll have to learn tatting all over again, but will give it a whirl this week.....along with other projects.

Today is "cleaning" day so I better get off here and go get my laundry on the clothesline...and clean the master bathroom....and vacuum....water the plants.....dust....

Thank you Jennifer!

I'm crocheting a smaller lap blanket now, for a Christmas present, amongst many, many other projects.

Woo-hoo! I finished the Mister's embroidered handkerchiefs. Now I just have to wait until I give them to him so I can take pictures.

I've been working on the St. Patrick's Day ATC swap. My son saw the first 2 I did and asked if I would make him one. How could I refuse??? He asked for a picture of him and his green house on it. :)The circles at the top are our house number. He was pretty excited about it. I think I will make an ATC folder for him with some cards depicting things that go on during the year.

You all are keeping me inspired! Today,I worked on a charming apron. It's made from charms. I should have it finished tomorrow so I'll post pictures then.

Kim I like you idea. I keep a little book of all the ATCs I make for the year. I keep a big book of all the ATCs I get from the swap. I love looking at them all. They are so creative. Right now I am working on the apron for the apron swap. I just finished 2 Dotee dolls for friends. One just had an operation and one has a birthday. I will post pictures tomorrow. Have my sewing group today so have to rush off.
