i have mentioned on another post how much i have enjoyed the maryjane farmgirl magazine for oct-nov.
it is full of so many ideas and crafts, and i was really inspired by the baskets on pg. 75.
i have had these scrap baskets before, and have always meant to make some, and the pics and instructions provided in the magazine really got me motivated. these baskets are small, but i hope to make them in all different sizes.

Frannie...I have made those years ago too and just loved them. Gave them as gifts and do you know I didn't keep one for myself. May just have to make myself another one! Yours are just Lovely! Great Color combinations!
When I saw those in the magazine this time...it brought back some very pleasant memories of working on those.

Thanks for showing us your talent and how great they turned out. Very Inspiring!

Hugs & Blessings,
~peggy

Hi Juanita...good to hear from you. Tell your Stepson that we APPRECIATE HIS SERVICE for our Country! We know those men and women are going through a lot of tough stuff over there for our Freedom over here.

Hope you and Charlie have a great Vacation. Relax and enjoy each other and whatever you are going to do.
My DH, myself, my youngest DS and his girlfriend are headed to the Oregon Coast in one more day...we are
all looking forward to enjoying each other's company and the Ocean.

Blessings dear friend,

Today I am working on "Forgiveness". It doesn't always look pretty while I am working on it
but usually the end result is breathtakingly Beautiful! A lot like Karrieann's Tatting!

HI Juanita...I am Crocheting a Blanket for a young man that just went to Iraq...He lived with us for a while and is like a son to me...I want to send it to him while he is away so he knows how much we love him...I wonder how you stay positive and not worry about your stepson all the time....

I have been working on a new endeavor using yarn made of plastic bags. I'm making a recyled reusable shopping bag. It's in the beginning stages! I'm also crocheting an Italian flag for my Nana for Christmas.

Like your cross stitch Pam!!!!

Megan I started saving plastic bags to make those...but they took up too much
space in my little Apt. so had to toss them all. Post a picture when you get
it done.

Today I have been answering phones all day. Lots of Birthday Wishes...which makes
me feel loved!

Good Morning Ladies,
Due to horrific winds and thunderstorms today, I'm going to start an applique quilt called "Primitive Garden". Since I love to garden and can't at the moment due to foot surgery, I decided to garden on fabric!

I love appliquing Carmen. Please post a picture of your Primitive Garden during and after construction. Sounds like a good plan while the weather gets colder.

Peggy, I find that flattening the bags, the folding them into 4ths the long way then folding them from the bottom up about 6 times the take up less space I put a rubber band to hold them all together. I recycle them for all kinds of things, the bottom of waste baskets, garbage, trash, my husband double bags his mice when he catches them to trow into trash.

... still tatting away here. Just about finishing up on this one. It is the largest one that I have created so far... plus thread size does play in that role. Using size 10, where as I was using size 20 prior. This doily will be going to a Farmgirl.. since it is part of our barter agreement.

To view the "Primitive Garden" finished quilt go to: www.cottonpatchfabrics.com
Click on: on-line store, scroll down to the 24th row, go to the box labeled "BOM patterns only" 3rd from the left, click to open. It's in the second row, 1st pattern. Click to open for a larger view.

Jill...Some People are just so smart...I never would have thought of folding them down like that. dah! That would definitely be a space saver. (now that I've thrown them all away) but I guess there are plenty more where those came from. Though I have mostly switched over to the big shopping bags now...that you purchase at most stores. They are very sturdy and I like knowing I am not mucking up our land-fills any more than we already do. But I did want to try making one of those bags...so who knows maybe I still will.

Sharon...love your little piggy chorus line!!! I so want to get into some more embroidery work...but right now I am making Christmas Ornaments for the Women in my Sr. Estates. A couple of us like to make everyone a little something each Christmas! So they know someone truly cares. I am making a plastic canvas star...that has sort of a quilted affect when I am done with it. They are cute and country looking!

The weather is lending it's self beautifully to crafting and not much else. Wet and wild here! Lots of snow in the Mountains. Which will make the Skiers Happy!

Blessings,
~peggy

Hi Julie ~ The pig design was one I found years ago. Can't even remember when. I enlarged it, put it on the light table and traced it three times with a disappearing pen. S
