I'm working on a knitted scarf for the winter scarf swap--this is the first time I have used a yarn that seems to melt from one color to the next...teal to purple to blue to teal...and I am enjoying it so much.

I just found a pattern for hot pads. It is colored on one side and the white ob the back shows through. Now I have to purchase the book.

I'm on vacation in SoCal and so sick. I have cold sores and canker sores inside my mouth and my lips are so swollen. Then my tongue hurts to chew--as well as the inside of my mouth. Visiting my son and DIL, but can't wait to get home and get well. I have been having a wonderful time until this stuff came along. In fact, other than the cancer and maladies of OLD AGE, I have been doing well. We had some unusual weather the first part of the week I was here--lots of cracking thunder and lightning. Very unusual for this area.

Love the piggies.

I've recently joined with a group of about 10 ladies that meet at our local library once or twice a month (we started last month). Each of us brings what we are working on and share and or teach the other a new stitching technique. We call ourselves "Stitchers" - some are working on crochet, some are knitting, some are doing embroidery. Last week we learned to do Hairpin Lace Crochet and our next meeting I am going to show them how to do the Needle Tatting. In addition to that, I have been crocheting up a storm. I made a cardigan for my daughter-in-law's Birthday and have just finished a matching purse, except for the lining. I'll try to finish that this week. Also working on a sampler afgan, and crocheted garden accessories for my Garden Club Christmas Gift.

Shirley...your Library Group sounds great. I started a group at the Sr. Estates where I live and we meet every
Tuesday night. We each bring whatever we are working on and just sit and visit while we do needle work.
I have done Broomstick Lace before but never Hairpin Lace. One of our other Farmgirl's just made a
hairpin lace winter neck scarf for me that is just beautiful! I really love it! ~ Sounds like you are
keeping busy with Holiday work too. That is what I have been working on today. I am doing some Plastic Canvas Star Ornaments to give with Christmas Cards here at our Sr. Estates. Some of these ladies are
alone and no longer have the happiness of a spouse as I do. So, I like to do a little something just to let them know that they are loved and cared about.

Finally.. I got my Kitchen curtain up. I needed the darn rod to hang them!
I used the old hankies from "antoinette" and I am so happy with the result!

..so so very happy! More photos on my blog.

Karieann...that is the cutest curtain I have seen for a very long time. How charming! I love how it turned out too. How did you get so many hankies? Every where I find them they are so expensive. I was just blessed with one from one of our farmgirl sisters and it just delighted me. In my home which I have decorated Victorian/Antique/Eclectic I hang antique beaded evening bags, with hankies and gloves sticking out of them. I love the nostalgia of the look and that era.

I haven't been working on anything today. Went to a craft bizarre this morning and bought some things. I am working on trying to get my home computers running again. Went and replaced the Router today and hope that is the problem.

Have a Wonderful Weekend!

I entered most of my sharnymcclarny etsy shop things in a craft show today. Don't have to be there, it lasts for 10 days and I'm hoping for the best. Am working on my November mail art and Christmas tags. My craft room is a total mess with everything out where I can get my paws on it ... paper, buttons, glue, scissors, exacto knife, photos, ribbon .... need I go on!

Sharon...sounds like my bedroom which is also my craft room, office, tv room etc. I had so much stuff out the other day working on the christmas Tags and mail-art that I was using my bed for a worktable. Then my dog decided to jump up in the middle of it all because she wanted to lay down on the bed. It was an awful mess. But very funny too. I had to de-fuss and de-thread and de-dog my bedspread when I was done. Sounds like you craft like I do...only you actually have a Craft Room...where you can walk away, shut the door and leave the mess if you want and come back later. If I did that I would have to go find somewhere else to sleep. LOL

Have a blessed weekend,
~peggy

Yes ... I am lucky to have a large space and a big drafting table where I can just leave the mess and walk away. Having so much fun working on the tags altho I was supposed to wait for Karen before I started on them. (Don't tell her!! hee hee)

I went to a baking party today. We made espresso cheesecake, chocolate cherry shortbread, pumpkin cream cheese bread and chocolate peanutbutter brownies. Everything is so wonderful! We also made buffalo chicken dip. I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in that stuff! LOL! Everything everyone has been creating is so amazing. We are one group of talented ladies! I've also been stitching up Christmas presents and did another craft video. Whew! I am tired!

I've been working on some Christmas quilt blocks. Made a few sample blocks
trying to work out the fabrics. And finally a block that makes me smile! So now
it's pedal to the floor, to get them done for a swap!

I just love hearing about what you all are up to. I am finally getting back into crafting again since the move. I think it's just what I needed. I believe I was starting to go a little mad. LOL
I signed up for a beginner's quilting class and went for the first session last Wednesday. Tomorrow night I'm supposed to show my first block- rail fence. I think it may be off a little, but for a first try it's really close. I wonder if the instructor will have me do it over? And I'm just itching to try out this new picture posting thingie so I'll show you all how it turned out....

I found the cutest mug pattern for Christmas. It's a base with circles of snow men, so easy, Once all the pieces are cut out of wool felt, I can sew one up in about 45 minutes. Think I'll use them as gifts with home made hot chocolate mix in a jar.
