This isn't a crafting project, but thinking about colors to paint my kitchen cabinets. Such decisions :)

Joan,

The art of making a home counts, in my opinion. Our sanctuaries are ours to reflect what we enjoy. So important!

I have to do an exchange craft project using something I haven't done before, so today I'm attempting watercolors. Wish me luck!

Good luck, Judith!
Grace, cute kitties! You are so clever!
I've been on a dish cloth kick, crocheting away.
Checking all the granny squares out to see if I can do a fancier one and make a jacket or poncho. Debbie got me started down that path. LoL!
Krista could whip one up in a minute or two!

Joan-I am in the same decision process. We just painted our dining room off white. Now our kitchen and dining area blend too much. My counter tops are dark grey marble laminate and can't be changed. I think we are going with a light avacado with light cream yellow walls.

Judith-Good luck with your water colors. If you can and want to, share your masterpieces.

Darlene-Debbie got me psyched too. Trying to think what colors to use.

Nancy, colors sound nice. Did you pick a pattern or style you think yo might do?
I have so many afghans and bedspreads that I made 30-40 years ago and they look new.
I'm not one that can sit and watch tv without doing something else too. Crocheting being one
of many.

Oh my goodness!

I carry my crochet bag everywhere. I can't watch the telly without giving my hands something to do.

Most people keep a pencil cup nearby. I keep my crochet hooks near by. In the fore ground is my current project( a scoodie).

My next project is waiting

Joan, It is hard to decide because it won't be easy to change anytime soon.

Darlene, I haven't picked a pattern or color yet. I lean toward anything with purple. I also like sea colors like teal, aqua, green, rich blue. I grew up by the beach. Once a mermaid always a mermaid.

Darlen, you are so sweet! I am getting faster all the time. Especially when I repeat the stitch over and over. I do enjoy making granny squares. I love when I have crochet kicks! Enjoy yours and all that you make.

This last week I finished crocheting 2 things for my swap partner and I am waiting for her to get the package before I share with you all. My tracking shows it was delivered today so I will show you soon! Now I think I am going to start on some crochet projects that have been on the back burner. There are a few things my mom wants me to make her.

I was in the hospital and while I was in there I started coloring,
Here are a few I worked on while in there and the last one I am about to finish.

Darlene, those are beautiful. They look like paintings. Is it pencil or crayons?

Krista, who taught you to crochet? You do beautiful work and you are the energizer bunny! LoL!
I have been watching YouTube and last night made my first crochet heart! Yikes, need more yarn!

Darlene, your coloring is very pretty. I hope everything is ok with you from your hospital stay.

Darlene, one of my coworkers taught me the very basic stuff. How to hold the hook and yarn, how to start and do a chain, and how to single crochet. The rest is self taught from YouTube! Once I started I seriously can’t stop! I came across another heart last night and decided to make it. I keep getting further behind on my other projects lol! Thank you. I would love to see your crochet heart!

Here is the crochet heart doily and bookmark I made. This was my first time using crochet thread and blocking afterwards. I really enjoyed it. I plan to make some more bookmarks.

Krista, they are beautiful! You're like a machine, whipping things out so fast! I don't know how to post pictures. I'll have to learn!
I just got finished watching YouTube. So many ideas. So I went through my yarn and decided since I have baby blue yarn, I started
a baby blanket to give to the crisis pregnancy center. I either give them there or one of the hospitals. I have yellow, white, more baby
blue and baby variegated so I can make a few more of them. Every year our church collects baby bottles that we put money in to support
the center. Good cause. Helps mothers that decide to keep their babies and need the help and support.

Grace, yes it is a good cause. I believe when we are blessed, we need to be a blessing. It doesn't always have to be money. Many people
are low on funds but high on many other given gifts. We farm sisters are such a generous group aren't we?

Darlene,, I so agree....
When I lived in California,, I loved our little group "Covers of Love",,, we would meet up once a month to chat, and work on lap blankets, and then, when we had a good supply, we would go to either the NIC Unit at the Children's Hospital, or the Sheriff's dept., Veteran's facility and Women's shelter to drop off arm loads of hand knit/crochet and quilted lap and baby blankets.
It was a great way to spend time with like minded ladies....

Thanks Darlene. That is so sweet of you to make baby blankets. Those sorts of things mean so much to mothers. I agree. This group of Farmgirls is very generous. I know I could be more generous. I have some ideas of things I would like to give this year.

I made 3 Lacey scarfs and one more to make. They will go to a local chemo center. I am on a site that I am a chemo card angel. I send a card and tuck ins
every week to encourage her until she finishes chemo or doesn't. My prior lady passed away before Thanksgiving. It's very rewarding being able to help some
one. Especially, when you know how it feels. If anyone would like to do this I will give you the info.
