Welcome to the themed 10" square (layer cake in the fabric world) fabric swap. This swap involves no sewing (your project is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please cut off all selvages before cutting so there is NO selvage in the 10" squares. (NOTE: The selvages are the two tightly woven edges of the fabric - opposite the folded edge.)

This swap is for 10" squares of Sewing-themed Fabrics. Each person who signs up will receive 2 different 10" squares of Sewing-themed fabric from each of the other farm girls who sign up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares, so the amount of fabric you will need to purchase will depend on how many sign up. We had a super group of 19 swappers our last swap, and 23 before that. Please join in - all are welcome.

Signups begin today: August 9
Signups end: Noon, August 23
Mail out by: September 10

If you have not yet participated in one of my 10" fabric swaps, when you sign up by posting in this thread, please immediately send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each swapper; the phone number is only in case I need to contact you for any reason.

We have been enjoying these swaps and it is fun seeing all the different fabrics we choose. I hope you will join us.

NOTE: When you do join in, please "Subscribe" to this topic so that you will receive all communication regarding the topic. And we all like to hear from you when you send out fabric and when you receive fabric.

You can go to the "Showcase" thread for projects made with these 10" squares to post what you make and see what others have made using our themed squares. http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73817

Sorry, my bad! When I went to the other section to post the photos most of the projects looked like there were 10 x 10" squares.

In fact, if you look at the pictures on that link, most of them are NOT using the full squares. LOL!

Oh, no, Jana. A project with them is however you want to use them. I cut up some of my floral fabrics and left some whole for the quilt top I made. Sorry to confuse you. LOL!

I made a twin size/lap quilt with my sewing theme fabric with a lot of help (or distraction) form my cat Aggie. I made two quilts (one for each daughter) for valentines day a couple years ago and always wanted one for myself. The sewing theme was perfect.

Hey Ladies,

Sorry I've been away for quite some time and much to my dismay, I do not have the list of the lucky ladies who signed up for this swap. Yes, of course I see their names above but combing through hundreds of emails, I don't think I received a list sent around Aug 23, 24. Please resend the list so I can get my squares out. They have been sitting here for two weeks, waiting on me to address the envelopes. Just to add a layer of complication on top off all this shimsham, it was time to update our MS subscription and we had to save documents in a most creative way until we paid the gatekeeper! But that is another story entirely!

Once I get the list, you all should have your squares within three to four days.

Love to all!! (((HUGS))

Thank you Meg for the sweet fabric squares.

Meg I was wondering if you received my email about Sarah and I meeting in Colorado Springs on Saturday, we were wondering if you would like to join us? We will have breakfast and get to know each other a bit better then off for some Junking at Goodwill and Arc before Sarah will have to head back to Longmont. We could also go to some other shops, gift and antique shops if there is time. Let me know what you think, take care.

Hugs,
Deb
