Welcome to the themed 10" square (layer cake in the fabric world) fabric swap. This swap involves no sewing (your project is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please cut off all selvages before cutting so there is NO selvage in the 10" squares. (NOTE: The selvages are the two tightly woven edges of the fabric - opposite the folded edge.)

This swap is for 10" squares of Sewing-themed Fabrics. Each person who signs up will receive 2 different 10" squares of Sewing-themed fabric from each of the other farm girls who sign up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares, so the amount of fabric you will need to purchase will depend on how many sign up. We had a super group of 19 swappers our last swap, and 23 before that. Please join in - all are welcome.

Signups begin today: August 9
Signups end: Noon, August 23
Mail out by: September 10

If you have not yet participated in one of my 10" fabric swaps, when you sign up by posting in this thread, please immediately send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each swapper; the phone number is only in case I need to contact you for any reason.

We have been enjoying these swaps and it is fun seeing all the different fabrics we choose. I hope you will join us.

NOTE: When you do join in, please "Subscribe" to this topic so that you will receive all communication regarding the topic. And we all like to hear from you when you send out fabric and when you receive fabric.

You can go to the "Showcase" thread for projects made with these 10" squares to post what you make and see what others have made using our themed squares. http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73817

We are closed with 12 in this swap, so you will only need 1 yard of 2 different sewing-theme fabrics. Please remember to cut off the selvedge edges first.

I will make up the list and send out by noon tomorrow.

I have been without a landline and internet for almost 2 days, just got it back at 10pm last nite, that is why I did not get in touch with you Linda. But, I did email you just now, and I do have my list. Thank you.

I addressed my envelopes and found one piece of fabric I bought a few months ago, and put it away. Now my problem is...where is the other piece. Surely I will find it in time or---perhaps I get to shop again. Cleaning house in spurts and sputters is not wise.

My contribution will not be going out until closer to the mail-by date (Sept 10th). I'm taking a break from the Texas heat in sunny Arizona. < ha ha! > Spending time with my dad and enjoying doing nothing special except "spending time." I'm certainly feeling lucky in that things lined up perfectly and in a rather quick fashion for us to have a get-together. Life is short and I'm definitely eating some cake. . . and buying the shoes!!

So if anyone was fretting that they would be bringing up the rear on this one, I think you can relax! I'm probably going to be the last one to get them out this month.
