I have two recipes one for apple jelly and the other for dandelion jelly. Both call for 2T of lemon juice. The grape jelly recipe does not. Both apple and dandelion jelly never set up, but the grape jelly did fine. I even remade the dandelion jelly and it still didn't set up. My question is, can I leave the lemon juice out of the recipe? Thanks for any help!

Sorry, the dandelion did not set properly. If you do not like to add certo or liquid pectin, for setting, what I do is add a little more sugar. Dandelions are somewhat tart, so I don't think that the little extra sugar would hurt. Grapes are high in natural pectin, so that is probably why it set better.
Just a suggestion.

I did add pectin. And it was a bit tart too, lol. I've been looking for a different recipe and see if that makes any difference. But their all really about the same. Thanks.
