Just cut off my garlic scapes, and not really sure of what to do with them. I guess I will chop them up and dry them. In the past I have grilled them with steaks and yes even tossed them. What do you do with scapes?

Michelle, I have given up on growing garlic but several years ago I did have a good crop of garlic with scapes. I cut the scapes in inch long pieces and put in EVOO. As long as they stayed covered with olive oil they were okay. I used them and the oil in sauteing meat and frying potatoes.

You can chop them and add evoo and put in ice cube trays, freeze and then pop out and store in freezer bags. Good for stir fry, soups etc.

Lisa, having cubes of scapes in olive oil would be handy to have in the freezer. Never thought about putting scapes in soup and I eat a lot of soup.

Great ideas! Thanks to all of you for sharing your ideas. This is my first attempt at garlic and so far they are doing very well!
