Happy New Year, sisters! :)

Am wondering if anyone chooses a word of the year to focus on? I have in the past…I haven’t picked one yet, or better yet, had a word pick me. I’m just curious if any of you do so. If yes, what’s your word?

Karen :)

Yes, Karen I have done it in the past but it has been awhile. Something I need to think about, thank you.

Peace, it's the same word I have hung on to for the past seven years. It gets me through the day.

I love that, Sara....peace would be easy to put on repeat in my mind.
Heather, that is an excellent choice!!
I have decided to choose "focus".
I need to focus on being in the moment, of whatever I am doing.

A very special farmsister gave me a devotional book back on my birthday. I've waited until the first of the year to begin it Karen. The introductory reads as follows: "We can choose joy everyday when we rely on God to be our source. When we focus on things we're grateful for, satisfaction in life increases, comparisons cease, unnecessary pursuits pause and we begin to notice the little things that matter. Life, breath, stillness, kindness, beauty. This is where we find a deep connection with God. Meditate on things that produce life and peace, experience the goodness of His presence."

My word this year is Trust. Its going to be even harder this year with all the anxiety, people going hyper wierd, etc. I'm going to keep my eyes on Jesus, His Word and the beauty of life despite the chaos.....and TRUST.

I pray for anyone reading this to experience the peace that passes understanding in whatever situation you find yourself in.

Karen, I think the word I would choose this year is embrace. Since my little guy will be turning 2 next month, it makes me really think about how fast time flies. How quickly Christmas and the New Year just flew by. With him being my last baby I want to really embrace every moment with him and be present in each moment. And expand that to my whole family. I want to embrace every hug and story from my kids and every silly drawing they hang on the fridge. I want to embrace every conversation and journey my husband and I have this year. I want to embrace all my interactions and swaps that I share with all the amazing farmgirls here. I want to slow down and embrace all the love around me.

Krista that is so Beautiful!
I love everyone’s words and I am enjoying reading why you chose the word you did.
100 badges a year as a group not individually, I know our Wildflowers can and will do it. We all have heart, we love a challenge!
Thank you again Heather for an amazing idea.

For me, it will be... "Listen"...
Listen to what people say, or don't say...
Listen to Nature,
Listen to laughter,
Listen to music,
Listen to rain..
Listen to silence...

Just stop and listen,,, without interrupting... learn from listening from the words and sounds around me.. and be grateful for the ability to listen.

Some many amazing stories. Thank you so much for sharing with me. After chatting with John, I’ve decided on my word…Wellness… this will encompass all things, physical, emotional, spiritual, mental. I h have had some less than stellar results from blood tests (and after my surgery this past summer) I want to bring wellness into my life. :)

These are all great words to focus on this year! It is hard to choose just one and maybe the right word is person dependent due to what has been going on her life. I need to give this some thought because my mind goes blank when I say to myself, just one word. We shall see what bubbles up.

Winnie, you can make it what you want it to be. It doesn’t have to be just one. Make a list…if you have 12 that speck to you, think of doing a word a month. :)

After much thought of what I want this year to be for me I have chosen the word Less. Less time wasted worrying about things out of my control. Less time working and more time spent with those I love. Less time doing the things I really don’t like and doing more of which I do. Less stuff to clutter up my home, making it easier to clean and utilizing what I have. Less screen time and more book time. The list is endless.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Julie, that is a great word! I’m definitely going to be more aware of screen time. I look back at it and ask myself, what did I learn? Was that wasted time worth it??? The answer is always no.
