Hello, all you stitching ladies. How about another quilt swap now that the first one is done.
Here is what I am thinking:
1. 8 1/2" finished quilt block
2. Colors to be red, white, and/or blue with accent colors acceptable. Just please have red and/or blue as one of the colors with white or cream
3. Any style of quilt block is acceptable. You may piece, applique or embroider or a combination of these is fine.
4. Please make 12 blocks for this exchange. You will get 12 back no matter how many join in.
5. Send a large SASE with correct postage in with your blocks to me for returning of the swap.
For those who have exchanged signature blocks, this size will work with those as well.
OK, so if you are interested, please reply to this post AND email me directly with your contact info: board name, real name and mailing info, email and a phone number just in case something happens and I need to contact you quickly. Sign ups CLOSE MAY 15.
I am thinking of summer time while planning my squares. I am thinking of Sunbonnet Sue, stars and American flags, but anything with these colors will go.
DUE DATE is JUNE 30.

Right-y-o, I am ready to get started. I will be very patriotic for this one. There is nothing like a patriotic red white and blue quilt, a hot summer day and a large slice of watermelon...looking forward to summer, can you tell? |

Yes, sunshine is correct on the block size. What you send should be 8 1/2" square. When you sew it up with others using a 1/4" seam allowance, on a finished quilt, it wil lmeasure 8" square.
No problem with the two sets, smoothiejuice and khartquilt. I think it is a great idea.

I will join this one too. Wasn't sure if I was into the red, white and blue colors, but the more I think about it, the more I love it for the summer.
Enjoy the weekend! Sheryl-lyn |

I purchased some new red and blue material. I hope that everyone will like the patterns I picked out. I will be making some simple blocks. I again hope that everyone will like them. It is going to be a beautiful weekend her in New Jersey. I am going to bring my sewing machine up from the basement and set it up in the kitchen so I can enjoy the breeze from the sliding glass doors. If it is real nice I will bring my machine out on the deck. I am so glad that I found this group. You all keep very busy sewing machines. I love it. I have an ASG meeting Saturday morning. I love to show and tell all the blocks and quilt tops I have made with the help from all my cyber friends.

What other cyber quilting groups do you visit? I picked out a few different fabrics while working on other things this week. I am trying to figure out if my squares might be too bizarre for everyones tops. I do not want to ruin things for anyone. My daughter started the search for what kind of block she wants to make for this last night. We will see what she comes up with. It will probably be great. Her work always turns out so well. I think she has nothing else to focus on, so she can really put her best foot forward. Have a great quilt topping weekend. Jess |

Oh, Kathy and Jessica, I am so happy to hear about your blocks. Now I am itching to get to mine. I have plans to try two different sets if time permits. I consider this like a sampler as each woman will make her own style block. Whatever you two decide to make will be just right. looking forward to getting started myself and seeing al lthe beautiful work from all of you.
