Today I am making my second batch of Christmas cookies. I'm making my favorite, cranberry orange shortbread cookies. But the worst part about making cookies.... the forever long chill time! Lol There is nothing worse then waiting hours to be able to bake and eat those delicious things!

My log of dough ready to be chilled.

Anyone else making cookies today?

Krista

Not today, but I will soon. Several family favorites to make. I wish I had someone to bake them with. 17 YO twin grandsons don't really want to help - they want to eat them. I used to bake with a girlfriend when I lived in California. Anyone want to come over and bake cookies with me?

I would love to Linda!

Krista - I've been known to "test" a couple cookies to see what happens if they're not chilled LOL! It helps to hold you over until the rest of them are ready :)

As you all know by now, I am not a baker, don't enjoy all the precise measuring, rolling, and slicing to make a cookie but I do like to eat them so I will be with you, Krista, in spirit.

Krista,, while the dough is a chillin' in the fridge, it gives us time to enjoy a cuppa tea and farmgirl gossip...

Heather, thank you for the tip! I will try that next time.

They turned out perfect, so they were worth the wait! They didn't make it very long once the kids got home from school lol.

They do look delicious, no surprise they vanished quickly. I made a batch of Betty Crocker's recipe of Aunt Ethels Sugar Cookies this afternoon. I had written the recipe down from a cookbook my late mother had gotten as a bridal shower gift in 1957. A simple recipe for sugar cookies and still my favorite.

Happy baking everyone!

I have made pizelles years ago, but not recently.

Just let me know when to expect you Nicole and Karen.

Oh I agree, Sylvia! I could go for some cookies right now. I would love to have a baking crew.

I have never had a pizzelle before.

Dawn, those are always the best. I love simple and easy.

I am not making cookies today, but I will be making wonderful stuff! It's a Christmas tradition as well.

Here is a link to the recipe for Aunt Ethel's Sugar Cookies
https://www.almanac.com/recipe/ethels-sugar-cookies

I may try these, though I do have a recipe I've used for years. I'll have to compare, may be quite similar.
