We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant autumn day here in the North Woods--it even smells like fall-even more so than any other year. We have had a gigantic harvest of apples including for the first time ever on our Wolf River with tons and tons of beautiful crisp apples. We also have two laden Transparent trees and another apple tree-(as pictured) not sure what kind of apples this one produces-We've never experienced a bounty like this in over 30 years of living here. Limbs have been breaking from the weight of them. Truly, mother nature has worked overtime in my neck of the woods.

Oh Melody! I'm so excited for you! We have 2 apple trees. One is producing fine, but the other had a a serious beetle issue. So no apples on that tree! Enjoy your harvest! :)

Karen :)

Gotta Luv fresh picked apples...
I do a quick, baked apple in the microwave,
I core an apple, put it in a big mug, sprinkle on cinnamon, and add raisins and granola into the hollowed out core, spritz with a bit of lemon juice, microwave for 1 1/2 minutes plus or minus... enjoy!

Melody,
Will you be putting up apples? Looks like you will have your hands full! Abundance...what a beautiful sight to behold.

Enjoy!

I thought about canning some apples but honestly, I know the jars would just sit on the shelf-we are empty nesters here and we have tried to give them away but everyone has so many apples this year. I sure hate to see nice apples drop to the ground, but at least we are feeding the local deer.

That is so wonderful, Melody! All of those apples look beautiful. Hopefully you can find a way to save them or someone who will take some off your hands. I would say you have plenty of apples for Apple Pie Sunday!
