I entered a post today about how this hot and humid summer has me dreaming about Fall! Because it is still just July, I had this idea to host a Scarecrow Swap because gardens are yielding veggies and Scarecrows are already out there working. Scarecrows start early and so I think it would be fun to just do a swap with this theme.

To keep expenses down, purchase or make some sort of scarecrow item that can be used now. For early fall enthusiasts, we can march along the slow road to Fall by starting 2023 with a salute to our hard working garden pals who then find their way to the rest of the pumpkins for a one of America's favorite seasons.

I hope you will join me in a little early fall fun. Let's beat the heat with a Scarecrow friend!

Sign up will be today, July 18- July 28. Then please try and mail your swap in early August so your partner can enjoy.

Here are the partners.

Denise(levisgrammy) and Dianna (suny58)

Marlene(Burns) and Julie(tree lady)

Deborah(DebiCarr) and Sherry (sweettea59)

Debbie(BlessedinColorado) and Laurie(laurzgot)

Winnie(RedTractorGirl) and Karen(Jokamartell)

Have fun everyone and I can't wait to see what fun and clever ideas you have about Scarecrows!

Winnie...are you thinking of things like clothes for a scarecrow, a sign it could hold, or something different. I just want to make sure that I do the correct thing! :)

Welcome everyone who has signed up!! I say the World is made better with more Scarecrow Enthusiasts!! LOL!!

Karen, to answer your question, I was thinking of something with a Scarecrow theme for the swap. The clothes for a scarecrow would be hard since you don't know if your partner has a form to use them on and all those sorts of details. Just an idea for you could be something you do with paper. For example, a few greeting cards with a Scarecrow that someone could send out this fall, or some cute cards on just one piece of paper that could be made into a small bunting to hang.

I would say to everyone, you use whatever medium you love best and just use the scarecrow theme . We are all our best when we can work with what we are familiar with and love to do. You can also find something cute out there and buy it to send if crafting at the moment doesn't work right now. I hope that helps questions and please let me know if I need to answer or clarify more.

My goal for this swap is just FUN and an excuse to indulge in fall dreaming!! Instead of "Dreaming of a White Christmas", let's dream of cool crisp fall evening where the scarecrow is out in the yard with some pumpkins and hay bales and grinning a big happy smile!!

Hi Winnie, what a cute swap. I do love and enjoy fall and all the fabulous smells to go along with it.
But, I love summer especially here on the coast although we could use a bit of rain, we are blessed with cooler weather.
Please sign me up and thank you for such a great idea!

A big hello to those who just signed up ! I am excited that so many love scarecrows as much as I do. In the Fall, I love to drive out in the rural areas where many people decorate their property close to the street. Sometimes they have a big old wagon, maybe and old tractor, or some other piece of old farm equipment to be the foundation for their creation. There is always a scarecrow or two, some pumpkins, mums, fall leaf garlands and hay bales. It feels like fall has arrived when these decorations are out. There are also some really small towns on these old roads where you might see a bank or little restaurant that will also be decorated all up. Scarecrows are sometimes made with the most clever ideas and I love to see what people dream up with.

Oh Winnie sign me up. I love scarecrows, and all the fun they bring for the upcoming seasons. Though mostly they are used in summer garden and not during harvest time. I love looking for scarecrow themed things too.

Dianna, yes we are sweltering over here in the Florida Swamp everyday since sometime in June!!! It has been a rough and miserable summer. On the other hand, the WEEDS are loving it and they have absolutely gone nuts and climbing all over everything from fences to trees and in my yard, they love to choke to death the azaleas!! I gave up watching the heat index because it looks like it is sort of here to stay until who knows what changes it!

Kelly, I got your swap finished today and just got home from mailing it. I hope you enjoy!!
