Thanks for the update Kelly. All I can say about the awful heat, is that I hear you!! What a blazer all of us down here in the souther tier of the country are stuck in. When I looked at our 10 day forecast today, everyday is the same. There is no change coming through next weekend.
On a brighter topic, I am excited to see what everyone does with the scarecrow theme. There are so many creative Farmgirls here At MJF that I know fun is currently being created and packed up to mail to swap partners. I think of doing an early Fall project as mental health therapy! When we are creating something fun, we aren't thinking about how miserable and hot it is outside. And that fun and focus is perfect mental health medicine!! Do any of you agree with me?? I am capable of living in my own bubble when I have to! LOL!!!

Couldn't agree more Winnie!! I've had no choice when it comes to working in this heat but I'm making the best of it. Shielding myself from the sun, wrapping frozen wet towels around my neck and singing till the work is done!:D then I clean up and go to my happy place of creativity!! Unless I'm dog tired, then its the bed of relaxation!! Lol!!making the best of it till it passes.You Texans , Florida's, us and theeast coast too!! My son and a couple sweet friends out west are sharing thier"perfect weatger" scenarios. Its a blessing for sure for them! They've had thier share of turbulent weather. So our "perfect weather," will come again. This too shall pass! Carry on strong creative farmsisters!! Stay cool!!

Winnie yes, this heat is terrible. No relief in sight. The weatherman said August will most likely still be in the triple digits.

Kelly, your fun package arrived this afternoon. Oh, what a wonderful group of goodies too!! I love that darling scarecrow you made that sits on a little block with the letter S on it, Too cute!! The shelf sitter scarecrow is just perfect for any shelf area and so adorable with that hat and holding a pumpkin and sunflower bouquet. The sparkly leaves are new to me and a perfect way to add a bit of bling to my decorations. The Swedish dishcloths are great because they are easy to use and keep clean. Plus the fall scene on them is perfect to dress up a kitchen sink for the season!! Those cinnamon teas sound really good and will save them for when it cools down and a cup of hot tea will be welcomed. Thank-you for being myself swap buddy. Hang in there with the heat that just won't seem to leave!! Tonight it was still 94 degrees at 7:30. Today was one of those really brutal days and everything outside is drooping again. We had a short shower last night and the flowers and all perked up but today just wore them out with blazing sun and heat again all day long. At least now I have some fun fall things to put out and enjoy!

My scarecrow swap arrived just moments ago and oh what a cute surprise!! Karen, you outdid yourself and I just loved it all!! There was a set of the cutest scarecrow pals, a beautiful bookmark with the Breast Cancer bow, and these fancy metallic clips for keeping things organized. Thank-you too for the beautiful card and your sweet message.
All of the swaps coming in are just adorable! We are all set for early Fall now with scarecrow goodies to enjoy. This has been a fun topic and I am enjoying seeing how everyone comes up with scarecrow ideas.

Hi Denise, happy you got yours! Yes, I made the little gnome, not my best work but I enjoyed decorating him! The cards came from a collage I just finished! The original has been mailed off.
