We love fresh lemonade around here, too! Tara, your place sounds really great. You are getting so much done! We are working on on little yard. We have a small garden that we are planning to expand using raised beds around the yard. We have six trees; lemon, apple, apricot, peach, plum, and a small avocado that my Granddaughters grew from a seed. Our neighbor has an avocado tree and gave us some of his crop. The girls wanted to put the seed in water to see if it would grow. They are surprised that it is now four feet tall. Enjoy your little farm!

Storm yesterday caused a lot of damage in garden. Straight line winds, trees were bending way over. Scary! All the squash plants destroyed by hail. I'll plant more butternut squash seed tomorrow, try again. Corn, tomato, beans, snap peas and pepper plants beat up.
Most of the onion tops were broken. I picked those and put in dehydrator.
Will the onions survive? Too much rain past 3 days, wondering if they rot?

Today's good mood brought to you by a lot of coffee!!!

I’m so sorry, Tara. It has to be frustrating to put the work in and then have to start over. All of my farm sisters with questionable weather have been in my prayers. Hugs to you.

Last of the sugar snap peas. Weather and snail damage and the plants were done. I did blank about 6 cups and put in freezer.
The duds are going into a veggie broth.
I may not grow these next year.
Oh the bowl was a thrift shop find from years ago.

A Carolina Wren built nest in a hanging basket. I'm watching over the nest and Momma. My husband moved the basket to corner of covered deck, out of the way of impending storms.

OMG I love it when birds feel safe enough to lay their young in the garden. How precious!

You are fortunate to have Mr Toad as a visitor. They are nice insect predators. We used to have one that would sit under the porch light every night waiting for bugs.

Tara,

A very happy bumblebee! How exciting to see all of the wildlife that visits your garden. Nature is amazing when you provide a healthy habitat for all of its citizens.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Last night at 8 19 pm. I was going to close the window and there he was. He sat down to eat bird seed, then pulled over the hook to get feeder to ground
Big bear! My cats were impressed. I live in the Foothills of the Blueridge Mountains, and yes bear are here. I live in a valley, see a lot of wildlife.

Tara, I'm with your cats, I'm impressed too. The largest critter that crosses my back yard is a fat opossum.

He is a big guy! I've never seen a bear this close.
He huffed as he walked into woods. I've heard that noise before when I'm out and about on our property. I carry pepper spray

I'm glad you carry pepper spray. I'd be afraid to leave the house. I'm in town so our biggest visitors are raccoons.

Today's harvest. Purple fingerling potatoes. A few will be steamed, mashed with butter, cream cheese and almond milk. I grew in two 10 gal bags

Tara, that bear is a neat but scary surprise. I would love to leave closer to wildlife venturing into my yard, but I would rather see the bear on the camera lol!
