Here they are...I have been meaning to get a photo up for a time now, but was missing my USB cable for my camera..
So here they are L-R, Lena-a pure breed barred rock, Ole-unsure of his mutt combo(sellers words not mine), and Hedwig-NOT a barred Rock like we thought. Any ideas what she is?
Perhaps a Silver Wyandotte? This is our Tammy, she's a Silver Wyandotte watching me put chicken wings in the smoker. She was too intent on what I was doing to turn for the camera, but you can see her markings.
Tammy and her friends have nothing to worry about, she's been our pet for seven years and is the leader of our official pest patrol. Ever since we got a few chickens, we've had very little insect problems.

I think Maria's right about silver wyandotte. She doesn't look like a barred rock (she's much prettier). She doesn't have barred feathers and her head is too white. http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGP/Rocks/BRKRocks.html. There are barred rock, also called Plymouth rock, pics at FeatherSite.
Tasha, you might be able to identify Hedwig with the help of a hatchery. I believe McMurray Hatchery has a website. I have their catalog and they have pictures of many, many breeds of chickens. I'm sure you can find them if you Google McMurray Hatchery.
I want chickens!!! They are sooo cute. The kind that make good pets tho! We had a very scarey rooster once!It would be fun to have eggs and let them eat the bugs in our garden. Barbara Kingsolver has the cutest story about her daughters chickens in her book Small Wonder! Ah heck ! I want to be Barbara Kingsolver! (One of my 3 favorite authors including Anne Lamott, Phillip Yancey and Alice Hoffman- oops thats four! But I do want chickens!! Congrats Tasha!
