Does anyone have or know where I can find instructions for making crochet socks. I was in Hancocks the other day and saw the yarn for making socks and fell in love with it. I know there are knitting patterns but I don't knit, so I was wondering if there were crochet instructions anywhere.
Also, for you knitters, would socks be a hard thing to try if I wanted to try to learn to knit. I tried it once and gave it up.

Please don't give up on knitting I think you will truely love it. I love to knit. It might help to get a video to learn to knit. You can get one at your local library probably I knit and crochet. You could go to www.anniesattic.com They have them Also, if you have a JoAnn's or a Michales they have pattern books on crocheted socks I haven't crocheted them but have knitted quite a few. I think you will like making socks . Good luck. pinkroses |

Same here, three years ago after I learned to knit, I've hardly crocheted a thing since. Kathy, there are some easy two needle knit sock patterns out there you can start with. Thats what I started with till I learned to knit in the round. I think you'd really like it. Goodluck and keep us posted. ~~Blessings, MikkiJo

Thanks a lot everyone....I may check out those books on crochet socks though. Anytime any of you knitters are in Kentucky, just stop by and give me a quick lesson. Kathy

LOL your funny Margie. And you'll DO it. I believe in you. I wear mine all the time. I get a lot of compliments on them. I use size 1 needles so the stitches are small and I can wear them easily with my shoes, and their not so bulky. But I also wear them around the house. After I started making socks, I hardly EVER wear any except my own. Goodluck to you! ~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

I would like to learn how to knit socks & we have BIG feet in our family. My girls & I wear size 11. The boys wear 13 or 14/15.
Do any of you have any EASY patterns for a very novice knitter to start with?

Lion Brand has an incredibly easy pattern for crochet socks and they come together really quickly. I think it is one their website, I have the original from a ball of yarn I bought. You can make a pr of socks in a few hours. For people who actually crochet, it may not take a few hours. |
