I would love to see a section on pets in the countrty. What is a farm without a dog, a barn cat and other assorted critters.

Life is a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death.

Nan:

I'm with you - in forthcoming books and mags, I would *adore* a section about Country Critters! Being that I'm an "Urban" Farmgirl, I don't know the first thing about all of the different types of barnyard animals. But yet I find it interesting and want to learn more, more, MORE!!

And IMNSHO, the farm pets that I've met (dogs & cats in particular) have a different type of character than do their urban counterparts. Like the difference between farm and (many) urban peoples, there is a get-up-and-get-it-done-ness to their spirit. A dirt under the fingernails reality that doesn't necessarily exist amongst the paper pushers (and their pampered pillow pets) of the world.

I know I'm speaking in generalities, but there is a certain appeal to farm life. *All* of it. And I'm a big partial to the pets and the other critters. ~ K

Me too! ALl the critters are a big part of why we love living in the country!
YOu don't need TV when you have animals and their antics.

A backyard barnyard section would be so much fun! I agree! Maybe with the basics of chicken-keeping for starters with a plan for a chicken coop???

XOXO, Libbie
