Just to let you know there will be an hour long segment on Autism on Oprah April 5th. They are showing segments of a Sundance Film Festival documentary "Autism Everyday" It's a great documentary. If you want the link to the full movie let me know. It's 13 min long. Just a heads up for those who like Oprah or want to know more about autism.

Yeah I saw that today on Oprah. I never get to watch her show. Today was the first time in like a year! The autism show segment looks like it will be good. I think more people should know and understand things like this. I personally dont know of anyone with autism but I would like to be more aware.

For *once* I actually wish I had television service. Sounds like it would be a good one to catch... ~ K

I work with people with disabilities and lack of knowledge and understanding is the problem. They used to lock people away when they were dif. from what some say is the norm. but have now realized with the proper supports and knowledge people with disabilites do fit in our society. Autisim is the one disability with the least amount of understanding by even our specialists. Right now it is popping up everywhere and they are unsure why but I think it is more noticeable now as they used to dual diagnois. I have a second cousin in law with autisim and it is a lot of work and stress, lack of support and understanding!! Really takes a toll on parents as any disability. Most are never dignosed properly unfortunately. I did watch show also Bill Cosby did one and this is what those families need awareness!!

Here's the link to the movie "Autism Everyday". Scroll down to the bottom and it is 13 min 20 sec long. It's nicely done documentary. http://www.autismspeaks.org/sponsoredevents/autism_every_day.php I have DSL so it's easier for me to watch it so a warning for those on slow dial up it may lock up your computer.
