Hello All - I am Angelia from Alabama. My husband Paul and I and our four farmgirl daughters live on a farm in Central Alabama. I found Mary Jane's magazine at our local Books A Million - I was hooked! I recently purchased her book and just absolutely fell in love with it. My best farmgirl buddy and I are starting a Farmgirl Chapter here and we spent the day planning!!!!

Looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone.

Angelia

Hi Angelia! Welcome to the group!

I appreciate the welcomes! It is such a busy time for us here on our little farm, as I am sure it is for all of you. I am heading out this morning (it is 5 a.m.) for the farmer's market. We do a lot of canning and I like to get large batches of produce at the farmer's market for that. My family will be home today shearing sheep (yes, it is a little late in the season) and picking the green beans.

But thanks again for the welcomes.

HI! I am a wannabe farmgirl in Nelson county Virginia. We have 8 acres in th mountains. In the wintertime, the sun sets here at 2:30 in the afternoon (we are in a hole so to speak). I read the book this past Friday evening-it is wonderful- I am hooked. We just got pigs and are looking forward to soon having chickens, goats and a cow. I am in dire need of a mentor so to speak, i am clueless on how to do a lot of things. I do some canning, I sew and such. My husband hunts and we do some gardening. Is there anyone here close by? I also work full time and we have two wonderful boys, I am interested in ways to get things done in an already full shcedule. WE have a farmhouse that was built in 1917 and the south fork of the Rockfish river runs through our yard. I could ramble on and on, but I won't. Look forward to learning and conversing.

Kimberly
