My bowl fillers swap is in an envelope ready to mail. Since I stuffed the animals a bit, the envelope is puffy.

I love the Hoosier cabinets...because it shows me how creative and efficient folks were back in the day.
I wish I had an extra room to set up a 1920s era kitchen. I have the Hoosier cabinet, a jelly cupboard, an old ice box, and a milk cupboard. All I need is a wood cook stove!!! I would still use them for storage as I do now, so it would only be for looking at not cooking in... I also have a Grandma's Flower Garden Quilt with that green colored fabric. It is " might near" 100 years old!

I bought a 22" dough bowl on eBay yesterday - I should get it on Wednesday. This will fit well on my pass-through counter top. It is coming from about 15 miles away, and they have a store, but due to COVID they are not opening up at all, so I have to pay $9.50 shipping. GRRRR! If they open up sometime I may go and buy another one.
I can't wait to fill it up to match the seasons or holidays. I have my fall fillers all ready for it, and have ideas for Christmas. I need to figure something out for this swap. Do people still want fall things now, too?

Hi, sisters! Wow Marilyn, you have some nice things. My grandmother had a wood cook stove. Wish I had it! I bet I know at least one bowl filler. Maybe two. I'm looking at them now! Cute!
September and October will be Fall and November and December will be Christmas/ Winter. So plan and work ahead if you want!
Postage is a nightmare! Just yesterday I had some questions and my puffy package went from $4.20-$5.00 down to $1.40 to mail. During the issue I was asked if I wanted tracking and I said no. I was told it would have been easier if I said yes. I asked why and she said it would have been $4.20 then. Instead I paid $1.40 and was told it was unevenly puffy but she would put it through. The date of delivery is on the receipt the same as if it is tracked. Don't get tracking! I never had anything go missing yet! I don't like being ripped off for anything and I've learned to speak up and negotiate, kindly of course, with mostly favorable results.

That is insane! I've been paying for three day delivery which almost never happens. Used to be two day Priority Mail...now it is three day and they can not even get that right! In fact out of the six packages I mailed on July 21st only one arrived when my receipt said it would! That was the book I sent by media mail to Oregon. Oops..I take that back because the swap I sent to Linda B. Got there the next day! I'm so upset that the two swap packages I sent to California, both mailed on the 21st, with delivery promised on the 25th...did not arrive until the 30th of July!

Marilyn, don't ever send it priority. I always say the cheapest way! My slip always says it will get there in 3-5 days. If we don't do the cheapest postage how many swaps can we afford to do? Our governor just informed us that the postage for all mail in votes will be paid for by us to the cost of over one million dollars! Give me a break!
Hannah, I do too! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Isn't the governor of Penn in that same group of dim wits as NY, NJ, Michigan and Calif. Our governor may have lost his chance to get reelected by ordering everyone to wear a mask. Many said he rolled over.

Darlene, vote in person. You have the right and they can't keep you from doing it. That is what we did for the primaries. We were the only ones there.

We voted in person for the primaries and I will do the same in November! Yes our governor is in the dim wit group! People need to wake up! Look what is happening to our country! I'm not ok with it! The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy! Jesus is love and peace! We all have to choose who we follow! I choose Jesus and He is in control. We need to pray for our country and leaders! God Bless America!

I'm a little late to the party but took this week off work so have some "play" time. Is there a particular theme for this time around? Just wondering before I commit so I know what materials I might use.

Hi Angie, maybe I can help you. This time around we can make whatever we want. I believe she told us to make two items about the size of a deck of cards. Next time we will do autumn things. Does that help? Marilyn

Darlene, please include me in the swap. Although it is last minute I have time AND designs! Hopefully this will not upset numbers for the swap. (If so, I completely understand and will wait the next one}

Until I saw this thread I had no idea what a dough bowl was. (amazing that I missed something I obviously "need") But I did know what a Trencher was and I see that they are sometimes interchangeable.quote: Originally posted by quiltee

Darlene, I am sorry but I am not going to be able to do this swap after all. I dislike that I have to set this one aside. But, I have only just moved here to Oregon and we are still unpacking, I have yet to find any boxes with my craft supplies and I just hate going out to buy stuff when I have tons of stuff! Maybe by the fall one I will have unpacked the boxes and will be more organized. Thank you and have fun everyone.
