Linda I don't have a pattern like that, sorry. I love the yarn colors Carole. Have fun working with it. I need to find a new project I want to do in the evenings.

I don't have anything like that either. I hope you find it! It looks cute.

I have a shawl I'm making for my mom in progress right now. I adapted a dishcloth pattern LOL! I'll post pictures when it's finished (hopefully soon!)

Hello Everyone,

It's been a bit of a crazy shedule with life, full time school and full time work. I still manage to get some work done on my needles. I've been working on this sweater for a bit now.

In 2015 my Aussie friend,Cheryl, sent be a box of gorgeous yarn from Australia. I've been patiently waiting for the perfect project.

That perfect project showed up in August. Storm Sweater by Petite Knit. It has an interesting construction. Although the sweater is worked in the round you begin with the back and work the front from the back.

I've been steadily working on it and am now pretty much done except for the neck.

With everything presently going on in my life, I am not in the mood for anything complicated or needing thinking. So I've put it aside until my mind is uncluttered.

What's on your needles?

I envy people who can do that intricate patterns and yarns. Great sweaters, Carole.

For me, I just don't enjoy working with the smaller needles and yarn.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you so much for your kind comments. The sweater is actually not complicated. It's really the result of placing a purl or knit stitch in the right order to create the pattern. It's a simple knitting project, really. The sweater was knitted on size 4mm needles. The pattern, if interested, can be found on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/storm-sweater-3

Linda, your cowls are lovely. Not sure how I missed that. I'm so sorry to not have seen them. I enjoy looking at other peoples creations.

Michele, looking forward to see your scarf/neck gaiter/cowl.

Cheers!

LOL the picture will be a while. Seems I cannot follow a simple pattern some days. I totally ripped it out once and last night took out a couple rows. The pattern is off of pinterest. https://www.howtomakes.org/lace-cowled-neckwarmer-crochet-free-patterns It is a simple hdc, back loop one row and front loop the next. I am using a yarn that I had in my stash, from my uncles fiber mill. So it is not bulky weight, it is worsted.
Carole if we lived closer I would invite you over for coffee and get some inspiration from you, haha. You are such a great knitter. I am sure Linda would like to come too!! Happy Knitting, or crocheting in my case.

Sounds like fun, Michele.

That looks like a great pattern.. I have some hand-dyed homespum yarn that I think would be great for that cowl. I love the back loop/front loop patterns. I may try that after I finish a couple things already on hooks and needles. Lol!

Here is the link to the Pinterest pattern for the 3 cowls I made with large hook and #6 yarns.
Note: I used an N instead of M hook on the 3rd one and one I’m making now. I also increased the rows for the neck from 42 to 44. Both changes do not make much difference in the fit. I did this just to make the neck a tiny bit larger.

Wow! That sweater looks amazing Carole! Even if it is a simple pattern, it's intimidating to me LOL! Maybe one day :)

Michele and Linda - thanks for sharing the pattern links! Those cowls look like a great gift idea. Now to find some time....

I still have the pocket for my moms shawl on my needles. I put it up and started working on other things that are needed first and haven't gotten back to it yet. Hopefully Wednesday I'll get it back out.

Oh Carole,, the sweater is lovely!

Occasionally I will have time to watch a show on our local "PBS' station/channel... called, "Knit and Crochet"
Often times they will do a 'same' project, but in both knitting technique and in crochet stitches.,

our PBS is from Calgary BC, Idaho and Washington.

Cold winter day here in Knoville TN. trying to organize my craft cabin so I can try and enjoy the space to craft, but the supplies have taken over. It is workable now and wanting to use up some of my small balls of yarn and make a shrug to keep my arms covered rather than a bulky sweater.... so have gathered my yarn and started the project last night watching TV. Not sure yet which badge this project fits in. Stay warm where ever you are. Wish you all the best for the holidays.

Michele, it would be loving to meet you. That cowl patter looks lovely, I cannot wait to see your version.

Heather, I don't know too many knitter/crocheyer that are monogamous. I have a few knitted wear that only needs a button band and it's a done deal! Just not in the mood! lol

Grace, thank you for your kind comment.

Joan, there is a knitting badge. I'm sure it would qualify. I cannot wait to see your project.

I just ordered yarn for a hoody. The pattern is called Thromso Hoodi by Sisu Knitwear and is free on Ravelry.

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/troms-hoodie

I figured it would keep me warm for my walk on a cold winter day!

Cheers!

I thought I would do a post on my favourite vlogs/podcast. I love watching these while I knit. The vlogs are listed in order of preference. The first two I watch faithfully. The others are also great.

Fleece & Harmony - I learned of this shop two years ago when I was searching for yarn shops for my trip to Prince Edward Island, Canada. They are wonderful people, dedicated to sustainable sheep farming. They produce their own yarn, which is lovely. They use environmental friendly dyes. Their show is fun and informative. They have two vlogs one for knitting and one called Harmony Reads which talks about their latest read. It's great that I get to watch every week.

https://www.youtube.com/@FleeceHarmonyPodcast

The Woolly Thistle is one of may favourite online shop. They carry unique yarns from small crofters in Europe and has now started carrier unique yarns from this continent. They specialize in wooly wools.

https://www.youtube.com/@TheWoollyThistle

These are great too.

She is a prolific knitter and is interesting to watch.

https://www.youtube.com/@KnitandGrace

Earthtone Girl has a course on sock knitting. It's her specialty.

https://www.youtube.com/@EarthtonesgirlPodcast

This one has interesting segments from Scotland. He is a minister, Christian denomination. I enjoy listing to him.

https://www.youtube.com/@albanachknitter

Rebecca is a pattern designer.

https://www.youtube.com/@the.creabea

Emma Robinson is a yarn dyer from Northern Ireland.

https://www.youtube.com/@woollymammothfibres

The Knitty Stew is a stewardess in Alberta Canada and does segments of the various places she has a layover.

https://www.youtube.com/@theknittystew

I guess that's about it. That's pretty much the kind of TV I like to watch. Hope you find some that you will enjoy.

Cheers,

Michele -
The pattern that comes up when I go to that link uses a bulky yarn. It looks similar, just a lot heavier. I like yours with the worsted yarn. Where is the pattern for the worsted yarn?
