Hello ladies! I have fairly recently discovered that I absolutely adore cotton dish cloths. Using them, making them, the colors...Just everything. I have never hosted a swap before, but if any of my Sisters are willing to take a chance on a relative newbie, I'd like to try.

All that is needed is one cotton dish cloth. Can be crocheted, knitted, simple, fancy...You get the picture! :) Tucks are not required.

Sign up is now until June 14th with partners posted on June 15th and mail out on the 16th.

Hannah, I LOVE knitted /crocheted dishcloths too!! Please sign me up.

A few years ago, we had this ongoing monthly dishcloth swap and after about 2 years of exchanging, I took all of them up and had them created into a nice warm afghan. It is my favorite winter wrap while watching TV. Wrapped in Farmgirl love just is the best!! Recently, I was thinking about making a second one and have been saving the few that I have gotten in swaps.

Oh Winnie, what a marvelous idea! I had actually toyed with reaching out on a monthly granny square swap with the intent of us all having an afgan by the end. But then I thought getting the sizings right plus the long term commitment for everyone...just seemed like a lot. The dish cloths seemed way more manageable. But I like the idea of turning them into a blanket if you chose to! If the interest is there, I will try to keep this going as a monthly swap!

I have some of my dish cloths started attaching into a blanket. To take care of the difference in sizes, I just attach some yarn and fill in the gap with some additional crochet.

Welcome, Nancy and Darlene!

Marie- that is also a fantastic idea. I have seen dish cloths come in some strange shapes...makes good sense to fill them in!

I love all the fancy dishcloths you all make. I love seeing them. I love all the patterns and colors. I have a lot of difficulty following a pattern. I would love to join this but I can only make simple, straight knit or crochet dishcloths. Would anyone be happy with that? Wish one of you were here and could help me make a fancy one. I would be most happy if my partner just sent me a straight easy one too. Thanks, Joey

Oh Miss Joey, a simple one is just fine! There is just as much love in the threads of a plain cloth as of a fancy! You are definitely on the list. <3 :)

Joey do not feel bad. I can not read a pattern at all. So when I need to crochet or knit I ask google. That helps me start. Then my fingers and my mind take over. One thing I can say is , at least everything I attempt does not turn out as a cup shape. That is the way I used to crochet...so up tight.

Marilyn and Hannah, thank you for your support. Thank you for adding me. I’m going to try to get my aunt to help me try something new. We’ll see what happens. Maybe I can expand my skills.
