Laurie, your quilt is gorgeous! It has an interesting use of pattern and colors that I also like. Enjoy using it in your home!

Oh Geez Linda, tough luck, you have to go back to Hobby Lobby today again. lol Don't buy too much! Up here, HL does not put batting on sale anymore. It is just the fabric.

LOL! I only bought the 6 yards of fabric I needed for the quilt backing, however, I had to go to a different town (16 miles away instead of 2.5) because they had the amount of fabric I needed and the order didn't come in to my local store and their next truck was on Friday. I see the longarm quilter on Thursday in my guild meeting, so I needed it before next Friday and besides, the 40% off sale was over tomorrow.

At my HL shop the batting on the large rolls IS included in the sale, but HL already discounts all the bagged batting (to a very good price) so they don't include the bagged batting in the fabric sales.

Linda, that's a bummer. I am sorry the store didn't have exactly what you needed and that your plans changed. Hopefully you can still get everything you need and finished in time for the long arm.

Almost ready to hand over to long arm quilter on Thursday at my guild meeting. She won't be working on them for a while, though, she's goiing on vacation, too. LOL!

I have 3 of the quilts, batting and backings ready to go; just need to add 2 top/bottom border pieces and sew the backing down the middle and then I'm done. Will do that tomorrow.

The quilt I made using 10 inch squares is all done. I think that I will keep it because it cost $50 to machine quilt.

This is my new project. I bought the panel at a quilt show and just needed the time and money to find the perfect fabric for it. Now I'll be making latticed side and bottom panels.

Love your quilt Vanessa and you'll have to show us the panel when finished.

Well the top one cost $50 to get quilted, so ill keep it. The lower one will take longer because I'll hand quilt it then enter it in the Germantown Fair next year.

I am working on being lazy today. I have had meetings and appointments for the last week and a half. Since I retired and moved to Texas four years ago I have less time then when I was working and commuting 2hrs round trip..

Seriously though...I have been crocheting hair buns like this:

You can either push all your ponytail into the holder and hairpin in place or like the first pic just lay over the ponytail and use a hair stick to hold in place above the elastic.

Nancy, your little long hair bun covers are so pretty! It is fun to have something colorful like these covers when it is cold and you just want a new look to add to the all the clothes one has to wear to stay warm. I hope your appointments and meetings take a break for awhile so that you can have a nice easy summer agenda where you can just do what you want.

Thanks Krista Winnie and Grace.

I started making them though because it is stinkin' hot down here in Texas right now. I still have longer hair and need to get it off my neck.

Our cold season is about a week in February. At Christmas it was 80 one year. I love to crochet but had to find things besides afghans beanies and scarves to make.

Yep. Climate change will dictate what we are comfortable wearing in the future. I can predict more loosely fitting garments and wide brimmed head coverings.

I found this cute fabric panel for Fall and brought it home. What I enjoy doing is quilting around the graphic lines to make them stand out. I don't go around everything, but mostly the broad outer lines of the picture. When I get done, I will use it for a little wall hanging for fun. Isn't he the cutest Scarecrow??

Howdy! I just joined the sisterhood and am working through a few beginner level badges, including sew wonderful. It took me awhile to settle on a pin cushion style I wanted to do, but I decided on a flower pot version (I'm an avid gardener). I used one of the pots I inherited from my grandparents-in-law and some scrap fabric and paint and made a little strawberry pot pin cushion.

I've been so inspired already by the badges and projects that I've decided to turn the other half of the loft area that is also my office into a craft room. I'll share progress photos once I get the first wave of organization done. It's already coming together nicely!

Nice pin cushion, and good luck with the organization. The hard part is sometimes finding stuff after you organize.........lol. At least it is for me.

Lol yeah I understand, Michele. I have to remember what I was thinking when I put stuff away so I can find it again. I also have ADHD and so "Out of Sight, Out of Mind," is a real problem for me. I've learned the value of clear bins, open shelving, and lots of labels. I am using the local yarn store's storage idea for my yarn so I can see what I have and used a Pinterest hack with dollar tree craft foam board to make "mini bolts" with my fabric. I already discovered two skeins of yarn I could use for some quick projects (including crocheting a scarf on my recent business trip). It pays to understand how your brain operates and to use organization hacks that work for you (or me in this case lol).
