And on the way home I stopped at a yard sale and this little lady called to me. It is a Hawkeye from Burlington Basket Co. I'll recover her later, it's still in good condition.

This is what I learned in my BootCamp class today

The first two are floating stitches and the next three are single ribbon stitches. Tomorrow I will work on double and triple ribbon stitches.

Jean, those are some neat new stitches you are doing! One of these days I may need to do this boot camp so I can learn how to use my sewing machine.

Vanessa, I think Barbie is perfect for the pink train case. How about a Paris theme for the red one. The red looks like sophistication.

Cute train cases Vanessa. I like your yard sale find!

Jean, isn't it fun learning new things on the machine? Pretty stitches.

Carole, that is a lovely littl quilt. I love to hear the stories behind the quilts. I have some from my grandma. I didn't know her well but would love to know the stories of those quilts she made. Somehow it gives such meaning to the craft.

All of these projects are amazing. You all add so much beauty to the world.

Ruthie, your litte houses are darling and would look soooo cute with little fairy lights lit up on the inside!!! Beside lamp, desk lamp, just ambience anywhere within ones home!! Just imagine the little doors and windows lit up with a darling little winters glow! Sorry, I had to throw that out there - I make outdoor garden fairy lights from recycled glass and ADORE the fairy light look. You can find battery operated ones on amazon if you're interested. Hope you sell out at the market - it's so much fun to go those!

My daughter gave me this blanket to repair so I used the visible mending technique I read about.

One of my goals for 2022 was to finish at least 4 quilts (in various stages of completeness). I’m a bit behind my time line as I wanted to have one done by the end of March. Oh well…lol. But today I finished my first top. I just need to buy some backing fabric and then layer it up. I will tie this one.

I do have a question though…my iron is so old and shuts itself off even when I’m using it! Lol. Anyone have an iron your love?

Karen :)

Oh Yes !!!! Take a look at SINGER SteamLogic Plus 7070 1775 Watts, 45 Minutes of Continuous Steam Output, and 300 ml Tank Capacity Iron. Available on Amazon at $80. Wonderful features such as long shut-off time, center mounted cord which as a "leftie" I really appreciate, 12-foot cord which is awesome, and a built in filter so you can use tap water and don't have to buy distilled water for it. I have been a Rowenta gal forever, but this is the best iron to hit the market in many many moons. Maybe you should get it as a Father's Day gift. After all YOU DO his ironing, right ??
hugs,
jean
