Finished a couple of shawls over the winter - don't know if I will actually wear them, but they kept me busy for a while!

All in one piece bottom up. Knit flat, but on circular needles because of the width. The only hard part is the ruffled edging, and it really wasn't bad after you had done a few repeats and got the "hang of it" !!

My little guy was able to use his tooth holder last night for the tooth fairy. We finally convinced him to pull it out because it was so loose. It was really neat.

Beautiful shawls Luanne!

I thnk I have mentioned before I participate in an envelope swap (not MJF) twice a year. I am currently working on my next batch They are in the press getting flattened so can't send a photo right now. But while I wait for them, I worked on aanother idea today. But it turned out to be very labor and thread intensive, so I don't think I'll be making 10 for the swap. However, I really am sew very pleased with it. So I will make a few to have on hand for special occasions.

Jean,, I have to laugh,, early on, when I got my Embroidery machine I bought a bunch of cute patterns... After stitching a few, that had uber multiples (20+) color thread changes,, I quickly changed my thoughts on some of them... especially when they have several thread color changes that only take a few stitches!!! LOL!

Now I am mindful of the patterns I buy,, 12-14 or less changes, I am good with,, but more then that, and I know I won't do it! LOL!

LUV the Flamingo! I still use and luv the Flamingo book marker you made and gifted me...

In the last 2 weeks I have made a recycled denim cobbler-style apron, 6 fabric wall pockets, started finishing up a UFO table runner, found several other UFO projects to finish, sent a table runner and a quilt to the long arm quilter, and tried to finish up several other UFO projects. Pictures later. LOL!

Well, the Flamingo is saved for special occasions. Too labor and thread intensive for Barbie's Envelope Swap. But here are my envies for the current swap.

I have been saving the little Starbucks bags forever to use for the "holders" and in the end, they didn't work. So I reverted to some other paper bags I had with the printing on them. These were very quick and easy to do and the shiny vinyl paper that was used for the cups, I found at the Dollar Store (now $1.25). It is really great to work with. I went back yesterday and got some of every color. LOL. I used it for the Flamingo's beak too. The burlap "paper" from Joanns was an interesting challenge to work with.

And, before you ask -- envies for this swap do not necessarily have to be suitable for mailing. I have quite a collection from previous swaps and go through them when I need something special for a gift.

Those are way cute Jean! I like the shiny vinyl. It makes it look so realistic. What a fun swap.

Hemming yards and yards of my granddaughters prom dress. Have finished the rest of the alterations just need to finish this one. It is slow going.

Julie, Just so special to be making her dress for prom! I love that. My grandmother made my wedding dress for me, I still have it, was just so very special to me that my grandmother took her time to make something so beautiful and special for me. I hope your grand daughter cherishes her dress and her prom night! Such special memories to be made!

Julie,
That is fantastic you are making her dress for prom. I made my daughter's wedding dress for her. I really enjoyed doing it but it was very time consuming and took me ages to sew all the beading on.
