I can't do Christmas yet either, Krista. My youngest was asking to watch christmas movies last weekend, we usually watch christmas movies in July - but, Mama couldn't muster up that cheer yet!! Been hotter than a popcorn fart here and we are now surrounded by wild fires with smoke and ash blowing in. Our air quality is far from Holiday Cheer. BUT, Grace - I adore that christmas swirl!!! :-)

I feel for you all in the smoke from the fires. I suggest you buy some air filters now before they run out. I bought one for each room last year when the smoke was so bad. They really do help.

Thank goodness the smoke has passed over us and moved on... Today was actually very nice but the Temps are going to go back up.. On the plus side I get of my 3 grands to have fun with... lunch, market for ice cream then back home to make hand made greeting cards...
Working with them gives me a good excuse to make a few handmade greeting cards too!

So far we have only had a whiff of smoke last week; today it will be 97 today, blue sky, humidity 26 with a few clouds. I misplaced my glasses yesterday so got no sewing done. Spent the whole afternoon and evening looking for them. DH found them this morning in the bathroom drawer -- I probably put them there when I put my hair up. I must be suffering from oldtimers crs disease.

Now that I have a new (still learning to use) cell phone, I had to make a new case as my previous phone was smaller. I have arthritis in my left hand which is the hand I use to hold my phone...so putting those big fat bulky rubber cases on my phone is not an option. I have a small rubber case that is not bulky.. but to protect my phone while floating around in my handbag, and easy to spot.
I really should have been cleaning my sewing room; but got distracted... Oh Look! A butterfly

Great idea! I also have hand arthritis problems. My new phone is larger, too. Didn't have a choice in the matter; they all seem to be growing. They need to start making back pockets in jeans larger, too. I think I will make a "purse protector" for mine too. Thanks for the idea.

I think your butterflies are here, too. I keep getting distracted from making my quiltlet.

Grace, those are too cute. They would look so cute in Christmas Fabric. Great gifts.

So, trying to teach myself micro macramé. Here is my first attempt at it. It is an ankle bracelet.
My next try is a bracelet (cuff)

Nice work.I love anklets now that I realized I can wear them. I used to do macrame but never on a small scale like that. Is that an old enamel ware funnel?

Grace, that’s a cute phone protector. I have seriously considered making me one out of crochet. Maybe now I really need to!
Theresa, that is beautiful! You did an amazing job! Is your bracelet going to match?
I need to get started on a baby shower gift but can’t manage to find the energy. All this heat is making me drag.come on cooler temp days.

Judith, I love anklets, I have done a few big items in Macramé. This is a wall hanging I recently completed
but I had never done micro Macramé. I found it so interesting that I decided to learn how to do it.
Yes it is an old enamel ware funnel. I have three and I love them.
Grace: Love the phone protector. I know what you mean about phones in handbags so I love the colors. Should be easy to see!
Krista: Thank you. The bracelet/cuff will not match exactly but I am making it out of a turquoise color cord. When I get it finished I will post a pic.

Theresa,, I have to laugh,,, I use to wear anklettes,, some I bought and some I made.. well,, a few weeks back I pulled out a anklette I made and went to put it on,,, uuuummmm! did you know ankles can 'gain weight'??? lol! Sooo I have 3 options,, #1 re-work (embiggen) them.. #2 take them apart and make something else with the beads #3 just give them to my grand girlies... LOLOLOL!
btw what a great idea to use an old funnel to show off your macrame' skills... love it!
oh, the Brighton anklets still fit (barely) because of the extra chain links....

Oh my Grace, I did not know ankles can gain weight LOL... Bet your grand girlies would love them. Well my sister called me and I was telling her about the anklet and she wanted to see it... funnel was close at hand so there you have it. LOL

Theresa, I can’t wait to see! I love turquoise! I have only tried large macrame but the micro sounds fun.
Cute projects Marsha.
Grace, which option did you decide to go with?

Theresa -- what kind of string/yarn do you use for the micro?
Grace -- ankles don't gain weight; anklets shrink.

Judith, right now while I am learning I am using
It seems to be 1mm which is what the inside hole of the bead is.
I am pretty sure that finger weight yarn would also work but I have not been able to find finger weight in cotton or maybe some other fiber than wool.

I wonder how Perle cotton would work. It comes in such an array of beautiful colors. Maybe I'll give it a try while sitting and watching the Olympics.

Judith, I think Perle cotton would work fine.

Last night I started working on another crochet project. I decided to make a wall hanging for my brothers new baby. He will be born in September, but figured I would get a head start. Maybe if I have enough time I'll make him some booties.
