Yesterday and today I finished binding 6 of my quilts with a new binding called a "Facing" binding. I really like the way it looks and they finish nicely.

They look great Linda. I learned that method a couple of years ago but keep forgetting to do it.

I love the way the backing looks and for quilts with no borders on them it saves covering up part of the design. I love the way they turn out.

I've never heard of it, but I was curious and watched a video. What an interesting technique.

So pretty Linda, never heard of facing binding.... will have to look into it.

All things back on hold as I need to get busy on my Quilted Christmas Cards. Oh my, I am so far behind this year!!!!!

I saw 2 different videos. The one I use has a 3-1/2" square in each corner and covers up the finding ends very well. I think it is more sturdy.

Yesterday and today I put together 81 of our 10" Christmas fabric squares from previous 10" squares swaps. This will be a Christmas gift for my son and his wife. I gave them a scrappy log cabin quilt many years ago and they use it all the time - so much that I think it is wearing out. LOL!I still need to piece together a backing of Christmas fabrics and send it off to my longarm quilter. I will take a picture and post later today or tomorrow.

One thing I did notice, however - many people do not check the size of the squares they cut. I had to replace or put borders around at least 10 of the squares because they were not a full 10" square. Public Service Announcement: If you participate in a fabric swap - whether for squares or strips of any particular size - PLEASE make sure that what you send are the correct size. THank you.

Adding a p.s. to what Linda said. Double check the size with who ever is in charge of the group. I once joined a group who was doing what they called a 6 inch swap. I sent in my stack of carefully cut 6 inch squares only to get them back a couple of weeks later with a polite note that said they should have been cut 6 ˝ inches.

Krista - love the C2C! Can't wait to see the last one.

Linda - that looks like a great way to finish quilts. I can't wait to see your Christmas quilt!

Judith - how frustrating!

Hopefully soon I'll have some projects to show.

Heather, I didn't have any of the correct color blue that I needed for my last one, so I started on the bottom border. This one is going to take a while.
