Barbara knows I love Nancy Drew,,, and have just gotten my 2 grand girlies started on reading them...(I recently found a 'The Hardy Boys' book for my grand son too!).

Anyway,, I will have the grands over this weekend.. for crafting and reading..(tea & scones too!) I can hardly wait!

Thank you soooo very much Barbara...
I am going to have DH build a unit to store and display my N.D. books..

Your never to old to re-read a fun childhood book or two!

Ladies--I loved Nancy Drew so much as a child---I can remember my mom kicking my butt because I wouldn't come eat and quit reading. I did no realize until lately that Nancy Drew was from the 1930's.
a friend gave me these books to send to Grace---I am so happy for her and the kids to have them.

Barbara, this is such a wonderful gift to Grace for her own enjoyment and her grandchildren!! Books are treasures that widen our horizons and take us to places we have never been. Grace, I bet your grands are going to enjoy theses a lot! How about you read a few chapters from a book to the grands over tea and scones?? Sort of peek their interest as to what happens next. I have always love mysteries since I was able to read on my own. Nothing better than sleuthing about an old abandoned property!!

Yep,, there is something about snuggling on the sofa, reading a mystery or comedy or what ever peeks your fancy... I love holding the book, I luv having the perfect page marker, be it a store bought one, a hand crochet or crossed stitched or even a handy store coupon...
I tried the 'Kindle version of books.. nope,,, didn't/don't like it..
I am the same with magazines,, I need to hold it, to feel the book in my hands..

I love that back then (and today) books like Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, and The Bobbies Twins were so loved by children all over,,, from the 1930's through the 1980's..I don't know if they are still printed... but thank goodness for all these old copies that are to be found...

If it weren't for that I have some sweaters to hand wash, and some ironing to do,, I would be reading right now!
