Welcome to the Farmgirls ATC Swap!
June is full of celebrations for all things summer - Iced Tea Day, Chocolate ice cream day, Cherry Tart day, Strawberry-Rhubarb pie day, Sewing machine day, Road trip day, Poultry days, Pollinator week, Camping month, Country Cooking month, Fresh fruit & Veggie month, Dairy month, International clothesline month, Summer solstice...and the list goes on. There are plenty of ideas for summer time inspiration.....
For the month of June 2019 lets have an ATC swap with the theme "SUMMER TIME FUN". Make one ATC card or ATC coin for your partner using any summer time theme, colors or mediums that you wish. Be creative, try something new, and most of all have fun! Of course if this theme doesn't suit you feel free to create something that you like instead.
Signups are open thru June 14th. Partners will be posted on June 15th. Mail out deadline will be June 30th.
If you have any fun ideas or suggestions for swaps or themes please share so we can keep this swap fresh and exciting for all to enjoy.
For those who are new to ATC Cards here is what it's all about:
Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. Artists create, trade and collect art at organized "swap" events, either in person or online. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5" x 3.5". Artist Trading Cards are the same format as modern trading cards (hockey cards or baseball cards). Alternately you may choose to use a round ATC Coin of 2.5" diameter. They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaborative performance.
Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are a conceptual art project initiated by the Swiss artist M. Vanci Stirnemann. He called it a Collaborative Cultural Performance. In 1997 he created 1200 cards by hand as part of an exhibit. On the last day, he invited others to create their own cards and trade with him during the closing reception. The movement took off, and today, there are ATC swaps in almost every major city around the world as well as right here on Mary Janes Farm!
You can make ATCs with many different media including paper, fabric, felt, metal, wood, clay, paint, stamps, embellishments and more. There are tons of ideas and inspiration available online if you google ATC or Artist Trading Cards.

Hi everyone! I sent Marilyn my suggestions, but I will also post them here; maybe they will jog other ideas? I listed butterflies/dragonflies/ladybugs, farm animals, flowers, colors- meaning, let’s focus on “red”, say- and items beginning with a given letter of the alphabet- which could be combined with another category (flowers that begin with the letter “t”, say.) Thanks for letting me share!

Hi all just a note to let you know the partners are posted. Since we had an uneven number I decided to stay out of the swap this month. My only employee quit last week with no notice so I've got some extra work on my plate plus interviewing new applicants, etc right now. So you ladies have fun swapping and I will enjoy the photos!
