We will be moving to AR in the Fall and will be wanting to get some milk goats and shetland sheep...do any of you who live there know where we could find some? We aren't sure yet what goat breed we want...not Nubians (we've had those before and they are just too intense for me), maybe toggenbergs or Nigerian Dwarfs. Crossbreds would be fine too...my hubby is a big fan of hybrid vigor.

Also, he wants to get a donkey. Anyone have donkeys for sale? We can't buy anything yet, but September is coming fast!

We've bought some land just outside of Summit...it's between Mountain Home and Harrison.

Hi Leah, welcome to the forums!! I used to live in Yellville so I know the area you are moving too, very pretty and you should have no problem finding the animals you want. Just be careful, that general area is known for drug dealers since it's so remote, a good dog is a must too!

I think the whole state is know for drug dealers! I live in White County which is considered the Meth Capital of the US. Over 70% of US Meth comes from White County Arkansas! Yuck! We have 4 BIG dogs!

Julie, sorry to hear that, Arkansas is such a beautiful state but so easy to hide out and make meth.

I know! I love it hear though. We live near the "bottoms" which is thousands upon thousands of acres of farmland! Unfortunatly when people get remote thry can get sneaky. I don't mean to paint a bad picture becasue we have never had any real issues and there are a lot of WONDERFUL people around here!
