Our Chapter is big on making gifts instead of purchasing. Each of us has made unique crafts and gifts for our family and friends for Christmas in the past, but we haven't collaborated on our crafting or done a very good job of documenting with pictures. This year, our Chapter gathered to earn the Homespun Christmas beginner level badge together. We planned out the gifts and ornaments we wanted to make:
Then we each took time to sort through our craft supplies to see what each of us could contribute. Farmgirl Sister Jen picked up the balance of needed supplies from her local Michael's store.
We pooled our supplies and worked together to craft the gifts. Everyone got to take home plenty of handmade scrubs, bath bombs and ornaments for the people on their list.
Below are some pics of our fun day in Millstadt, IL!
Emily, that looks like so much fun and a great way for all of you to get your Homespun Christmas badge! Everyone on your list is sure to love their homemade presents. Every year I do what I can to make all my gifts as well. I love the feeling I get when I see others open up what I have made for them. Great job ladies.
Emily, these photos are so cute and look at all the goodies that were made for giving!! You all had such a successful day making lovely gifts for giving!! Thanks for sharing the fun and congratulations on getting this fun badge too!
Winnie #3109 Red Tractor Girl Farm Sister of the Year 2014-2015 FGOTM- October 2018
Thank You Winnie and Krista! This is one of the funnest badges I've worked on and it's really motivating to continue operating less as a "Consumer" and gifting more mindfully and responsibly.
I love the idea of making gifts instead of buying them. It shows a lot of love and thought to give a gift that is made by oneself. It looks like a great time. What in inspiration, too. I think I am going to make some gifts to give out. I have some ideas I am working on. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures.
