I went to our branch library today for "Finish-It Friday" - bring your unfinished craft project for show-and-tell and help and encouragement. The librarians were there and the reference librarian brought in books when someone needed instructions for Kitchener stitch....
It was a lot of fun, I met some fellow kniters (there were quilters, bobbin-lace makers, and crocheters there too, also a lady who does pressed flower arrangements)
The down side was I had to take a half-day of vacation to do this... I'd like to go again but not sure if I go every month since that would be SIX WHOLE DAYS of vacation...
The other upside, besides enjoying it immensely, is that I got started again on a sweater that is 80 percent complete - all I have to do to finish it is sew up the sleeves and finish the collar. Hope to publish it on my blog in a few days...
Good idea- I did this once with a small quilt I couldn't seem to figure out how to finish. Took it to a "Get together" finish it group and one nice lady helped me finish it in one afternoon. She did most of it but I separated her cross stitch thread for her. Thanks for the reminder!!!
Finishing up the seams and knitting a collar sounds more like 90% complete to me! You go, Farmgirl! That sounds like such a neat event. I would love to do that around here...
My day today is more like "Start it Friday" since my sewing machine has come out of storage again. The craft room is a mess with fabrics and buttons and I've got a few fun things in the works. Stay tuned for news of a yogurt & granola Etsy shop!
