Good morning all! I just joined the forum last week and am looking forward to getting to know you all. I feel like I finally found my home. I have been reading all the topics that I can digesting everything. I started a chapter in Northern Colorado and am hoping to get some interest soon. I am married with two children (daughter London, 8 and son Dillon 3). We currently live in town, but my dream is to buy a piece of country land to live on in the NW; someday!!! So I am now making plans for a garden this spring; we moved into our house last July and haven't done much but get settled. I work full-time as an administrative assistant to pay the bills. I am taking classes in herbalism and holistic health online; I have one last class to go before I get my Master Herbalist and Holistic Health Practitioner certificates. I love to craft especially papercrafts and crocheting and am currently learning to sew. I would like to learn soapmaking soon and making herbal body products. So much to do and such little time and money, but I am working on that. Anyway, I am so excited to find this website and can't wait to learn and get to know everyone!

Hi, I am taking a herb course now. Who is yours with? I just started it, so have awhile before I can say I'm an herbalist. I'm doing it so I can make some of our & the animals remedies. I grow a lot of our culinary herbs & this year we hope to plant some medicinal ones too. Every year I add more . Also going to make soap ,in addition to the cheese I already make with our goats milk. Getting the goats in April!

I am taking my courses from the Australasian College of Health Sciences. They are based out of Portland OR, but the courses are online. I have taken nutrition, aromatherapy, anatomy, herbalism, business, and my last class is learning the apply what I have learned to everyday health concerns. It has been great; now if I can just incorporate it into my life and career, I will be set!

Hi Grace, I love Larkspur. I got to the Renaissance Festival about every other year. My husband and I got married there in 2004. It is so much fun; great atmosphere and food. Now only if I had a lot of money. We didn't go last year so we will probably head down this year. My best friend lives in Colorado Springs, so I usually meet her there. Sounds like you have a great business going. Do you have a booth at the Renaissance Festival?
Nice meeting you,
Cheryl

Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcome. I keeping reading and reading. There is so much information on here. I have already started my family on the no shampoo. I love it so far, but my daughter wasn't sure about it because the vinegar stinks.
Thanks!

Hi Cheryl - guess what it is snowing again.
I must say I am a Colorado Native and never been to the Renaissance Festival. We are on the east side of I 25. I had talked with them about doing a booth but their rules was weird and they wanted my animals to spend the whole day in a pen and that is just cruel. In my younger day I belonged to a club who study the Renaissance and we ate, drank, reenacted and was merry.
I am so glad to know another Colorado person is enjoying this site. When the weather slows down we have to get together. Take care, stay warm and get out the shovels again.

Hi Grace,
Sounds like you got a lot more snow than we did. Most of the snow didn't stick to the roads up here so traveling wasn't bad. I heard that between Denver and Colorado Springs was terrible. I must say, I will be glad when summer is here! Have you lived in Larkspur for long? Then Renaissance Festival is fun, but I don't like to go every year because it is usually the same stuff and a lot of it is pricey. We usually just walk around and look and have lunch. I love the Renaissance period. Do you have any costumes? Sounds like the club was great fun. I want to get involved with a group of like minded people, but have a hard time because of my work schedule and small children.
I would love to meet up with you and check out your work! Take care and stay warm.
Cheryl
