Does anyone read Susan Wittig Albert's books? She;s got 3 series': China Bayles, Beatrix Potter, and another one I don't know much about, that's set in a Victorian/Edwardian time period. I've read nearly all the China Bayles books, and intend to start on the Beatrix Potter ones next. She intertwines herbal lore and recipes into her books, and I think they are just so cool! :) Really lovable characters. Her website is mysterypartners.com

I have to go there. I love Beatrix Potter. I was able to tour her house when I was in England. Thanks for the link Katrina!

I have all her China Bayles mysteries and the Beatrix Potter ones, too. I especially love the Beatrix Potter books ~ they are wonderful for all ages and I hope to start reading them to my grandchildren soon. The herbal references are great in the China Bayles mysteries and they always have recipes and plant tips. I haven't read her other series, so I don't know about them!

Katrina, I bet you'd like the Brother Cadfael mystery series. He's a medieval monk who is an herbalist and an amateur sleuth. The author is Ellis....oooh, can't remember and know it like my own name. Ah, well. Just google Brother Cadfael and you should get it. I like the Beatrix Potter books, too.

Happy reading,
Patricia

I've seen the Brother Cadfael mysteries on PBS, but I've never read them. I tried the first one, but I didn't make it past the first few pages. I'll have to give it another go. :)
