I think that I'll leave that up to each person - I'd like at least one mini doll for Mahri, if you can manage it.

Her sister is still pretty young and I think that with 17 or more participants, there will be plenty to share. However, if you would like to make TWO matching mini dolls to send for Mahri and Meadow, you are welcome to do so.

I am probably going to send the complete set of farm animal dolls to them - so that they can have a variety.

Thanks Erin. Here is my survey

Short questionnaire:
1. What type of doll or toy do you like to make, or would be willing to make

- simple shape toys or animals made from fabric (simple construction, usually a couple of pieces and not jointed)

2) which type of doll or toy (from above) would you like to receive (give first and second choices)

I would be happy to receive any of the types listed.

3) favorite colors
I like bright colors. Favorite colors change all the time. Today it is green but that may be different tomorrow.

4) collections (doll or toy wise)
Nope

5) anything else you'd like to mention that will help your swap partner out...
I'm not picky! Just happy to swap!

I have been asked about the possibility of one of the participant's daughters joining us in the swap and I think it is a GREAT idea!

Does anyone else have any kids who'd like to join? Boys can join too - I have some great monster doll patterns if they need some ideas... And what boy doesn't love a good sock monkey?

If we have enough kids (just need two to make a pair...) we could do a JUNIOR VERSION of the doll swap! If not, I'll pair up the younger kids with some of us older kids.

Oh, good. Erin, I am so glad we can add Carmen to this list she will be so delighted when I tell her. She just loves making dolls. She made a mother/daughter set for the fair last year that were just adorable. I will mention it to my boys also, they might get a kick out of it. They have several dolls, they love them as much as the girls do they just use them differently. This afternoon we will register Carmen and get her survey up and posted. If anyone has a kid who wants to pair with Carmen, we would be happy to swap ya'.

I am stoked to get my partner's name so I can begin to make her doll.

1. What type of doll or toy do you like to make, or would be willing to make

- simple rag doll like Raggedy Ann or fairy tale dolls
dolls, etc.)

2) which type of doll or toy (from above) would you like to receive (give first and second choices)

- simple rag doll like Raggedy Ann or fairy tale dolls
dolls, etc.)

- Waldorf dolls

3) Favorite colors:

Pink, Yellow, Blue, Green in the pastel shades. I like red. I love the floral prints, also in keeping with my screen name I am a big fan of retro prints

4) collections (doll or toy wise)

Now for my secret that most people don't know about me: I collect vintage dolls. I love the polish mask face dolls, and the dolls that are from the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's I collect mostly reproduction dolls.

5) anything else you'd like to mention that will help your swap partner out...

I love the cottage style look, shabby chic look, but I also love art prints from the 1920's-30's. I have a LOT of eceletic stuff in my apartment. I am appreciative of anything that is handmade.

I must confess... I made a mini doll last night (about 4-5 inches tall) just to relieve my increasing excitement about this swap... I too can't wait to start!!!!

Hi everybody, I can hardly contain myself for this...just found my moms vintage rag doll pattern from the 70s, maybe I will try that one out. My daughter has taken a look at our survey and she has prepared her responses:
1. I would like to make a rag doll or a baby doll with a very pretty dress and probably some braided hair made of some color of yarn. It could also be a boy doll with some overalls and maybe a hat.
2. I would like somebody to send me a baby doll that is either a girl or a boy. I really like yarn hair.
3. I really like the colors light blue, red, yellow, pink, purple, orange and green. I like brownish red hair like mine.
4. I collect a lot of crochet hooks and knitting needles and lots of different colors of yarn. I also have a lot of paper dolls and small pieces of colorful cloth to make little clothes for them. Usually I just get them from my moms scrap cloth box. I also have a lot of really tiny things that some people call miniatures.
5. I am 7 years old. I like to play soccer. I like to knot and crochet. I like to play with all my pet rabbits and my cat. I want to get a few chickens but my mom said I have to wait until my dad has some time to help her build a coop and we have extra money for the coop building stuff. My dad works a lot so I do not know when he will have time to build a coop but I hope it is soon. I am really excited to make my doll, so let me know who I need to mail it to. Love, Carmen

Okay, looks like she took care of that with less hesitation than I did. Thanks for letting her jump in everybody.

Okay, well I think we got all that answered, so if you all have any question, just let me knoww

Erin,

Sent my email to the lucyandmoose addy. My PC had its brains fried so until I get a new one, (hopefully soon) I won't be able to check in as much, but I will check in every few days on my son's PC. I'm really interested in participating and am checking out my patterns.

I have the list of participants completed and have already paired folks up - but am waiting on a couple of mailing addresses.

If you have NOT sent me your address, please do so now.
If you have not filled out a survey, please do so now. (Thanks!)

Tracey - do you wish to participate? If so, send me your info today! Names go out this evening.

I have also pushed the mailing date back to April 20th to allow us to mail our packages without having to fight the tax crowds at the post office. You may send them earlier if you wish. If it looks like you will have a problem meeting the April 20th deadline, please let me and your swap partner know asap, so that if needed, we can reassign them.
