Good Mornin' Farmgirls!

I have often clicked on the links to your blog pages and have toyed with doing one as well. One of my sons has a My Space page. He can only invite friends and can not have it open to just anyone. We went through a lesson on internet safety, too much info, etc.

My Space just isn't me, but I love what I read & see on your sites. So, my question is about how you go about being safe on line. Can anyone read your pages? I have never had any trouble getting in to any of yours, so I am assuming that they are public. Have you ever had anything inappropriate come through to you? Naturally, I want to keep myself safe like my son on My Space so I am looking to you all for advice. Thanks so much!

Vanessa! Good Morning!
I am no expert but here is what I have experienced. I have had a blog since October and have had no problems. I have taken the advice of more experienced bloggers here at MaryJanes.
I don't post any personal identifiing information-don't put anything in your profile that you don't want the whole world to know.

I don't use my children's real names. I started out using them, never had an issue, but after reading some posts here about safety I chose to delete their names and most of their pictures.

Any picture you post can be copied and used by anyone. That's why it was suggested to take children's pictures off. Bad people can do bad things with pictures. I do have alot of pictures on my blogs, and some do have my kids in them.

As for comments, on blogger you can choose who comments, you can choose to be able to look at each comment before it is posted. And there are other ways of weeding out comments. I have not had a problem. I know other ladies have and so are using comment moderation which means they read the comment before it is posted.

I hope I answered some of your questions, Vanessa! I would love to see you get a blog going!
