Well, I don't think these are partridge or turtle dove nests but thought I'd share these pics of bird nests in our pear tree.

This one is the larger one, made with a lot of grass and mud, about the size of a salad bowl. Not sure what bird would be the homeowner

This one is teeny tiny, with made from grass, branches and fuzzy hair. Because it's so tiny I'm guessing it might be a hummingbird nest. We did have a h-bird "couple" around this summer.

I hope they withstand the winter and get residents next summer.
Thanks for letting me share!

That's so neat. I hope the nest will survive so you can get some new tenets next year.

I love the landscape this time of year, with the bare legged trees. Sadly we get wind that tosses bird nests to the ground, so when it is time to build a new...the birds must hunt for materials. We like to put snippets of yarn, string, etc out so they can hopefully see it. CeeJay you must have some large birds!!!

My hubby and I were discussing what bird would have built the larger one, but couldn't really decide. Maybe we'll see next spring!
The other one is VERY TINY and hubby agrees it's probably hummingbird nest.

P.S. By my comment "salad bowl" I meant an individual person salad bowl, not a big salad bowl. Sorry, I didn't think about clarifying that!
