Well, I don't think these are partridge or turtle dove nests but thought I'd share these pics of bird nests in our pear tree.
This one is the larger one, made with a lot of grass and mud, about the size of a salad bowl. Not sure what bird would be the homeowner
This one is teeny tiny, with made from grass, branches and fuzzy hair. Because it's so tiny I'm guessing it might be a hummingbird nest. We did have a h-bird "couple" around this summer.
I hope they withstand the winter and get residents next summer. Thanks for letting me share!

SO cool, Cj... I luv spotting nests in the baren trees of Winter,,, and try to make note of them so I can watch in the Spring for the occupants... I have yet to find a hummers nest... Lucky you...

I love the landscape this time of year, with the bare legged trees. Sadly we get wind that tosses bird nests to the ground, so when it is time to build a new...the birds must hunt for materials. We like to put snippets of yarn, string, etc out so they can hopefully see it. CeeJay you must have some large birds!!!

This is a beautiful bird's nest that you discovered. It does looks so cozy too!! You will have to keep a watch out and give us an update next Spring.
