Wish I had taken better photos,,, but these will have to do,,, for now...

as you can see,, it needs some TLC ... but all in all it is a sturdy old home,,, The Home Inspector Dude,,, couldn't find anything wrong with the house,, just needs some updating and paint... whew!

the metal barn...

our back 14ac... and where the tree line is,,, my former neighbors property starts..

Looks like you're back in the West Plains area. I'm sure if it was spring the first thing you would do would be to plant lavender : )Is your old house in California in the way of the wildfires?

Hey Joann...
yepadoodle... lavender will ve planted all around the house...
and... here is the kicker... "Garden Gate" lavender farm is just about 3 ranches down the road...

Fortunately our former home back in California is not in the path of these hortible fires.... we were surrounded by fires the month before, 5 fires total... but thankfully the fires were contained with in a few days...
my heart goes out to my Northern friends ...

Grace, I am happy to hear that progress is happening on your new ranchette! It is hard to be "displaced" but hopefully all the details will come together and your new home will be ready for move it. When Hurricane Irma was here, we lost power for 7 days so I made several trips to our laundromat. So many people were friendly and helpful with lots of little details about how the machines worked best and which dryers to use! It really was not a burden to have to go there at all, EXCEPT, that is was about 90 degrees outside and the laundromat has no AC!!

Oh Winnie... you are so tight.... most of the people at the laundromat are very nice....and everyone seems to have an extra quarter to help out a person in need.

Still waiting to get this escrow closed.. a few hiccups... but hubby and I are patiently waiting....

Grace, am I seeing correctly that your mini sewing projects will be done on a mini sewing machine. That is too funny! Hang in there, it sounds like you are getting close the finish line with your ranchette purchase.

Gracie,
So glad to hear it's done . . YAY!! I DO NOT envy you all the work, however.
And, it seems like it hasn't been that long since you just did this kind of work in your house in California . . . mercy!
Happy moving!

Wonderful, Grace!! I am so glad to hear that you are finally able to move in and start assembling your new home. Despite the work ahead, I am thinking it will be fun to make this new space just like you want it to be and find a home for all of your belongings. There is something very special and energizing with a new home and your ranchette is a very nice place. I look forward to photos of finished spaces as you move forward!!

Well,,, go figure,,, the phone lines to the house are having an issue,, so the phone company is trying to figure out where exactly the issue is.. and still not wifi.. that's another story..... but it sure is nice to be able to use a regular bathroom,,, as opposed to the mini version we were using in the 5-th wheel...lol!
The 1st truck load of our household arrives tomorrow and the 2nd truck comes on Friday.. in the mean time everything will have to go into the garage and barn because we have to keep the house clear for the new flooring through out... the new granite counter gets drawn up (template) on the 22 and installed about a week later... In the mean time,,, the washer, dryer and range won't arrive until after the floors are layed down... so for no I am microwaving everything and hitting the laundry mat 2x a week,,, and saving every quarter that comes my way! lolol!
