NOTE: When you join in, please "Subscribe" to this topic so that you will receive all communication regarding the topic.

This swap involves no sewing (your project is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please buy 100% cotton quilting fabric and cut off both selvage edges before cutting squares so there is NO selvage in the 10" squares. (NOTE: The selvages are the two tightly woven edges of the fabric - opposite the folded edge.)

This swap is for 10" squares of stripe Fabrics. Each person who signs up will send 2 different 10" squares of 100% cotton stripe fabric to each farm girl who signs up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares (with a little left over), so the amount of fabric you will need to purchase will depend on how many sign up. Please join in - all are welcome.

Signups begin today: today, Sept 8
Signups end: Noon, Friday, Sept 29
Mail out no later than: Friday, October 14

When you sign up, please immediately send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each farm girl for mailing out to everyone; the phone number is only in case I need to contact you for any reason.

We have been enjoying these swaps and it is fun seeing all the different fabrics we choose. I hope you will join us.

We all like to hear from you when you send out fabric and when you receive fabric. And please post pics of what you make in the Showcase thread. You can go to the "Showcase" thread for using this link. http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73817

Note to all: This will be my last 10" square fabric swap because I need to scale down on my swap hosting. Everyone has enjoyed these swaps, and if someone wants to take over this swap you have my blessing!

I've got you both added.

AND - on another note - Our newest member of this group, Katie, has agreed to take on the 10" square swap after this swap. Those of you who are regulars here can start giving her ideas on themes you may be interested in swapping.

Welcome Katie!
I suppose you can go back through the swap history, which began in June 2015 I believe, to see what we have swapped in the past! Linda may have a list!

Thank you Linda and Marilyn. Marilyn, I will definitely take a peak at the history just as soon as this craft fair is over, what a great idea! I'm going to study Linda's every move on this one so I pick up on what to do. Also, if anyone has any new ideas, let me know!! Please be patient with me. I have big shoes to fill; Linda is amazing

Thank you Linda and Katie! I know it will be awhile, but how about building materials (bricks rocks, lumber, etc.), Birthstones (each sends their own), or just solid basics? Thank you again!!

Enjoying the day,

Katie, I just looked and our first 10" square swap was posted June 8,2015. It is down on page 11. We each cut and mailed one patriotic square and one Christmas square. We had 10 swappers. I wanted a layer cake type stack of squares. That first swap did not make a layer cake stack...but it was fun, and it continues to be fun for me.

Katie -
We have usually swapped 2 squares - only for one with little interest we swapped 3 squares. The intervals of the swaps have varied, but about 6-8 a year. Themes we have used include: Patriotic/Christmas (together), Easter, Florals, Valentines, Christmas, Patriotic, Farmgirl, Kitchen, Sewing, Mens (not much interest), Boys, Girls, Music, Polka dots, stripes, Cats, Dogs, and Fall. There have probably been more, but I can't think of them right now. The holidays can usually be repeated - especially Christmas.

As I posted earlier, music was one we did - it was one of the most popular. If she wants, Katie could try it again. We got a lot of neat fabrics in that swap. Stars would be a fun fabric to swap, too.

Stars would be great, Melinda. We did music earlier this year and it was difficult to find in my small town.

Just 12 and a half more days to put your name in the pot for stripes in your mail box. Don't you think some stripes to go with hose polka dots would be fun???

I have all my 10 inch squares sorted and pressed in 1 gallon zip lock bags. I pull them out and admire them then put them back until I have a worthy project. I have made a quilt with my easter fabrics, just need to quilt it, not sure when that will happen.....
I think stripes will be fun! We always get such entering fabrics and hardly any repeats so that makes it fun in my opinion. If needed I will add in some squares from my stash to make a true "layer cake" if needed.

So much to do never enough time!
