Yesterday a friend's daughter-in-law was shopping in a large discount store when a man approached her and said he was security. He told her that he saw her shoplifting and that she needed to accompany him. This woman was definitely not doing any such thing and began to argue with the man. Her husband, who had been two aisles away walked up and asked what was going on. The man then said, "Sorry, I was just joking" and he took off.
The couple were very disturbed by this and asked for the store manager. They explained what had just happened & he told them that is NOT how security handles such matters. They went to the store video and it proved the man who approached this young lady was not a employee. He targeted her because he thought she was alone.
If anyone tries this with you, you have the right by law to demand a uniformed security officer to be present. Never go off with someone claiming to be security. Demand for the manager as well. Please pass this on to all you know.

Life is like a novel, every day is a new page......
Not good!!!!! I do believe the cops should be called in to take a look at the video. Scary. Marly

Glad her hubby was near and thwarted the incident.
I have had two different times men approach me in the parking lot of a store. I read the book "the sixth sense". It is a self protection book. Excellent book. It was recommended to me by my kick boxing coach.
When these two different incidents happened I made a ruckus. I said in a very loud voice "GET AWAY". One guy told me I am crazy. I just kept telling him to go away. It drew a crowd but I was safe. I went in the stores both times and reported it to the management.
I rather be called crazy then be hurt or dead.
Do to my nature of clumsiness I have a few canes I used after a few injuries I got. I carry a cane sometimes. It can serve as a defense if needed and people will move out of my way faster in the stores. I know I know I am wicked awful.
