It's time to start signing up for AUGUST Mail Art!

If this is your first time signing up for Mail Art, please visit the topic Farmgirl Mail Art to read our guidelines.

FOR AUGUST, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. If you aren't a sisterhood member, no worries, I will send an email to get your mailing address. Sign-up is available through AUGUST 10. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.

The theme for this month is ICE CREAM/POPSICLES. And as always, if the theme is not right for you, feel free to do your own thing.

I will send an email with your partner to you on AUGUST 15. Please send your Mail Art before AUGUST 31.

I'd like to encourage everyone to post a comment on the current month's thread when you receive your mail art. And if you can, a picture is nice. We all love seeing the inspiring art! And a quick thanks lets your partner know you received your mail art.

A couple more things to keep in mind:
1. Traditionally, Mail Art has been "secret"; part of the fun is receiving a surprise package from a surprise partner. I would encourage you not to tell your partner who you are until a reasonable amount of time has passed for them to receive your art.
2. Please be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination :)

If you have any questions or concerns, please send me an email. I'm always delighted to help.

Happy swapping and farmgirl hugs,

MaryJane's daughter,

Meg

Yes! I very much like these exchanges because they force us to think inside a box, to stay within a theme, without being too precise (like the kind of material and such). And, of course, seeing all the wonderful ideas and creations form others!

OH Marilou! This is too funny! Apparently, I am really feeling the sunshine this summer. Hmmmm, maybe I should take a hiatus from picking the topic.

Marilou, would you like to pick, seeing as you were the first to respond? No worries, if not, I can certainly come up with something but maybe it would be fun to take turns picking topics?? Let me know if you have a topic you'd like to explore!

It could certainly be fun taking turns picking the topics! *pressure, pressure*
Since August is still really warm and sunny (and humid... we had a really hot week!), what about "your favorite Ice Cream flavor" or "Popsicle" or simply your best refreshing snack on a hot summer day?

I'm in of course! I think I enjoy summer so much because I can eat Frozen treats as much as I like. I do eat them sometimes on cold days, but I always receive strange looks :) *chuckles*

This is just a quick message to tell my lovely secret sister that your package has just been mailed ^-^
And, I can't believe I'm the first one to finish my project! Normally, I'm always tagging a bit on the late side *chuckle*. Well, event thought I'm the first one mailing, it will still take quite a bit of time to reach since I'm far away...

Have a wonderful month and can't wait to see your fabulous creations!

Holy smokes I finally got my mail art mailed out this morning! My apologies to my sweet recipient! I am too OCD and did not like how the first piece of art turned out so I made a new piece! But it is on its way northwest of me so hope you like it! Happy September!

I just received my fabulous Mail Art from Aimee! It is so beautiful! I love the crochet watermelon pouch and I was so happy to receive your rock! I was so hoping to receive one since I saw you making them last year! -^-^- Even if you explained it really well, I just couldn't figure it out so thank you! There is also a watermelon soap and a cute blend of tea. You made my week! Everything is so beautiful :)

Here is a close-up of her fantastic skills!

Thanks again!

Oh Marilou!
I'm so glad it arrived as quickly as it did! I had such fun making up the pouch. DH just watched as it grew and then as I added the green at the end he said "It's a Watermelon!". I'm glad you like the rock. A church in our area is stating a thing called Grace Rocks. People are decorating rocks with inspiring messages and leaving them for folks to find (and re-hide or keep) and then posting to FB. The yarn bombs fit right in with it.
Love,

Bleeni
