Here is my jewel box of polka dots! Aren't they pretty. I have 11 of 13 sets so far, that includes mine. I can hardly wait to sew with them.

Thank you everyone for my polka dots. If I have forgotten to individually thank you, I apologize. I had the envelopes by my laptop to have the names handy and my hubby accidentally threw them away (the envelopes, not the fabric).

Marilyn, did you receive mine? I don't see them in the picture.

Katie, I have not received yours, but I haven't lost hope. My first set for Brenda took its lovely time-about three weeks to get to her!

But I mailed them ages ago. Let me know if they don't come and I'll cut another 2 squares.

Hi all! Sorry to be so late in touching base. My squares are in the mail. I love all the polka dots and inspiration. You girls are all so sweet. Judith loved the extra dots! I have received blocks from Judith, Linda, Denise, Cristy, Katie, Jana, Mary, Darlene, Brenda, Deborah, and Melinda. I wanted to be sure to let you know I got your squares. Thank you for all the loveliness!

Just thought I'd show you a quilt I made from a polka dot house swap I participated in last year. The houses are each 3 different polka dot fabrics and the background was to be a solid. I had to make 30 house blocks and I got 40 back in return - all different.

Beautiful quilt Linda. Everyone did a great job on those blocks.

I have received 11 so far. Plus two from Marilyn. Btw Marilyn, two of the fabrics were the same the other two are different. Still find it surprising they were mailed a month apart and came on the same day.

Thanks again to everyone. Marilyn, Judith, Lori, Linda, Christy, Deb, Mary, Darlene, Denise, Katie, and Melinda.

Can you tell I was about to fall asleep when I wrote the above post last night?? I had to take my husband into the big city yesterday to see about a brace for his dropped foot. They put a cast on his leg, then cut it off. That will be the mold in which they make his special brace. We go back October 4th to have it fitted, adjusted, etc. He has bought two over the counter devices, spent about $100 in the last year and a half, only to complain all the time! The new brace, $1,100 ended up costing him $37. Medicare advantage/Teacher Retirement insurance!!! He was shocked. In fact while we waited for his appointment, he complained about the insurance and dreaded how much it was going to cost. My statement, only the gazillionth time I've said it, "We have very good insurance!" Always falls on deaf ears.

Marilyn.. I was pretty sure I have all my Dots. Don't give it another thought... I'm just 1000 percent disorganized.

Thanks Mary! I just sorted a bunch of fabrics maybe two weeks ago, but when I pulled out a tub just now I thought, why is that in there?????? It's impossible to be organized when you are a curvy person! By curvy I mean creative, easily distracted, and yes disorganized!

Linda are the house blocks 6" x 6" or 6" x 8" ?? It looks like they are longer than wide, or is that camera trickery.

The blocks are 6" x 6" finished (6-1/2" square before sewing together). I can send the pattern ( or post a link to it on FB) if you want. The houses are 3 different polka dot fabrics and the background was a plain or TnT (Tone on Tone) fabric. I found the neat fabric I used for the borders at a shop in Oklahoma.

Some people put their blocks all in one direction, others rotated them like I did.

I've always loved house quilts. So yes please let's try the link.
When I was the art teacher, I was also responsible for decorating the building. The main bulletin board was 6 1/2' tall and about 20' long, covered with blue carpet. So for December all 500 kids made a little paper house, decorated as they chose. They filled that bulletin board and it was so cute. We loved it so much we kept it up through January.
