Hello everyone! I just found this website when looking up some tips! Anyway, I am a mother of 7 children; 6 goats, 8 sheep, about 18 chickens, 40+ bunnies, 2 dogs, 8 cats, 2 cockatiels, and a guinea pig! You can see by my user name that I live in WI. Although, I grew up in Idaho, California, and Minnesota.

After growing up on dairy farms with my dad working as a farm-hand and then later having our own small hobby farm, I longed to get back to the country myself. About two years ago our family bought a small acreage and started building up our little hobby farm. We now primarily raise our animals for our own use but my children are involved in 4H and show their animals at the fair as well as showing rabbits at ARBA shows. We are still pretty new at all of this, though, so I can always use as much advice as I can get!

I have recently been getting more and more interested in more natural approaches to health, cleaning, etc. I am quite interested in reading and learning more about everyone's cleaning tips without chemicals!

I guess that's about it for the moment. I'm sure we will get to know each other more as we go along.

Welcome Sheila, from another midwestern FarmGirl (I'm near Chicago -- I looked you up on google maps -- you're really up there!)

I have to know: Are the highschool teams known as the Tigerton Tigers?? Or Tigerton Lions, just to mess with folks' minds?!

Anyway, happy you found us and looking forward to hearing more about you and yours.

Hi & Welcome Sheila, wow, you really are a critter luvr... I use to have a white French Angora bunny named "Puffers" but we usually called him poopsalot.(self explanitory). Some were along the way he did not get the memo that he was a bunny, rather, he thought he was a puppy dog. He loved to be carried in my arms like a baby too!. Sadly, when he was 5ish, he came down with, as the Vet termed it, "Snuffles" a respirtory illness... It still breaks my heart. I will never forget him. God Bless critter lovers. It just occured to me,,,wow! you must have some critter food bill. But they are so worth it.

Hello all!

Well, first off I did live in UT for a year too (found my wonderful hubby there and brought him back to the midwest with me!); Actually two of my 7 two-legged kids are already grown and in fact I became a grandma this past year! so... I still have 5 girls at home.

We raise numerous different breeds of rabbits; Mini Lop, Mini Rex, Rex, Dutch, Netherland Dwarf, Jersey Wooly (like a miniature Angora), Satin, and Lionheads. We are actually try to minimize the rabbits to less breeds. I did have some French and English angoras but just recently sold them, as I don't have time to groom them like they need.

Well... we are pretty new at the whole farming thing and really don't know what we are doing yet! Although I lived on farms as a little girl, of course the actual farming stuff was done by my parents! My husband grew up in the small town of Camarillo, CA (okay... not so small... Los Angeles) but spent summers on his grandpa's farm; although, he is LOVING it here in WI.

As if I don't have enough to do, my kids are involved in 4H also and were just elected as officers, which means... I'm busy with that too!

I look forward to spending some more time on this website and learning from everyone here!

You are a farmgal after my own heart. I love the animal list - when people ask me who is on the farm and say "Do you have 10 minutes to run down the list"? You will find the gals on this list so wonderful and I look foreword to learning more about you adventures. Welcome
