Alright, all of you "Women Who Knit," I am making a really cute and simple baby bib from "Mason-Dixon Knitting." It's all in garter stitch - and that's going along just fine, but the edges are a little loose - there seems to be an extra little loose loop at the end of each row. Do any of you experienced knitters know how to fix this or to stop it from happening?

Thanks!

XOXO, Libbie

Sometimes if you slip the first stitch of each row it will make the edges neater.

Just so I'm sure that I know what you're talking about - just slide the stitch from the left needle to the right without "doing anything" to it?

That's right, Libbie.

I'm just a beginner, but that's what my MIL told me to do, as I was having the same problem!

Have fun.

Libbie- I find that if I put the needle to the back of the stitch and then knit, it will tighten up that edge a bit. I say just try different things, and whatever works best- go with it!! Good luck.

That's an ADORABLE baby bib pattern! And Karin's right: Try whatever works and remember that there are no knitting police! (In the words of the Yarn Harlot...)

Have fun with it!
