Okay, I have to come clean about a few swaps I haven't finished. These will be on top of my UFO List.

1) Make Butterfly Dish Cloth

Way back in my first year of Sisterhood membership, I accepted something from Kem (Cozyanna). I have finally found a nice pattern for this project so I can get this done and remove this guilt. Kem, if you see this, please send me your address.

2) Doll Swap

There was a doll swap a couple years ago, I entered a doll swap and was supposed to send it to Madeline. I was a little ambitious and chose a complicated doll pattern. I ditched that for a very nice crochet doll from a book I have.

3) 2014 Christmas Paper Doll Swap

So way back then, I was supposed to send one to Bonnie Ellis and she was to send one to me. We both got busy so we agreed we should do it later. I can't find the bag I put it into.

4) Friendship Quilt Swap

I also joined this swap and have been lax about returning quilt squares to those who sent them to me.

This is a picture of the ones I have received and returned a square to. They are all put together as I go.

This is a picture of the squares I have not returned a square to.

5) Last, but not least, for the third year in a row: Alter Night Gown - will get out a pattern piece with a princess seam and see what I can do.

So there it is - My list of shame . . . er UFOs. Wish me luck.

You are a brave soul, Marie!

Denise, I love those strip blocks. I've been saving my small strips and small triangles...I'm not sure why...I always have hope!

I worked a little more on organizing my craft/sewing room..oh, look! shiny!

Then dgd noticed she has no burp cloths. So, I found a pattern on Internet and printed it. Pulled out all the boy fabrics and flannel.

Then we had an OB appt. and grocery shopping. Fixed dinner. Now doing this. Then folding laundry. And, Poof, the day is gone.

Step dgd had a baby boy today! Will read tonight. And, try again on those burp cloths tomorrow. Baby is due any day.

Congratulations everyone on finishing your first sets of UFOs. My goal for this week is to make a list of the things that need to be done. That way I can see where I would like to start so I can get a smile next to my name! I have to stay positive even though I'm off to a slow start!

I finished my 40 squares for the guild swap this week. One UFO down.

Now I am on to the 3 gifts I have started but not yet finished.

Great job everyone on the finishes and the UFO planning!
I have had a grrrrrrr week. I had to rip a big ol bunch of stitches out of my challenge piece.
Last night I did get some put back in, but it didn't feel like much progress.
More updates and pictures on my blog (link below)

I am so impressed with how hard everyone is working and how much progress you all have made the first two weeks into the challenge. Being that I work full time I have taken it easy so far, but ends now, I will be digging into projects this weekend (three day weekend here in Southern California) and hope I too will be posting my progress. Congratulations to all and keep up the great work!

My first UFO has proven to be more of a challenge than expected. I first cut it out last year and hand pieced it. You make three vertical rows with nine patches and a plain cloth block. Then you stitch 11 rectangular pieces together vertically and attached them between the three nine patch rows. They didn't fit. Now I'm not talking a bit off, like inches. Thought I messed up in the hand piecing process, took all stitches out--all stitches. Decided to redo this project but use my Featherweight. Finished the itty bitty nine patch blocks and tried to sew them to the plain cloth blocks. Guess what? Totally off. Checked instructions on cutting, measured my seam allowances, did everything according to the pattern. Pattern instructions are wrong!!!!! Did some math and I can salvage this project. Trimming the blocks and then will put these rows together. If I have the same issue with the rectangular pieces, I"ll either make a larger seam allowance or be trimming again. I am not a beginner quilter.....just a bit frustrated....but this project will be finished. Would love to hand quilt it. Wish me luck.:) At the very least, this little Featherweight is just purring along.

Sylvia, I added you to the list of UFO Finishers.

This project sounds interesting. I would like to see a picture of the work in progress (WIP) if you are able to post one.

I also will be gearing up for working on UFOs this weekend. I hope to see more smiley faces behind our names.

I started my list this morning and already have 10 things that need to be finished. This weekend I am hoping to get my brand new sewing machine out (I got one for Christmas!!) and work on fixing up some shirts! About an hour ago my son ripped his pants....one more thing on my list to sew.

Sylvia,
Lighting is so important, you can get much more done, especially when it gets dark so early, much easier on the eyes!
Enjoy!

The friendship squares, I think you were involved in this as well. I have them, they are safely tucked away in a ziploc bag, probably in my partial projects basket, I just haven't had the courage to drag that out again, but I probably should. I need to clean, I mean "reorganize" my sewing room. Its easier to just shut the door some days!

You are lucky you have a door to shut and an entire room for sewing. Here's a picture of my sewing "area".

Boy do I feel at home here, I had to take a second and third look to make sure someone didn't sneak into my sewing room and take that picture!

LOL It certainly is a challenge trying to work in a bedroom, especially when my 64 year old little boy wants to take a nap.
